Late May through mid-September is the prime window, when daytime highs are warm, the Columbia River is ideal for swimming and paddling, and the campground is fully open. July and August bring peak crowds and advance reservations fill quickly, so midweek stays are easier to book. Shoulder months of April, May, and October offer cooler weather, lighter traffic, and pleasant conditions for cycling and fishing, though nights can be cold. Winter visits are limited as the campground typically closes in the off-season.

A designated swimming area with a sandy beach sits along the park's Columbia River frontage. The beach is a short walk from the campground and has nearby day-use parking suitable for tow vehicles.
Daroga's boat launch provides direct access to the Columbia River for motorboats, kayaks, and paddleboards. The adjacent lagoon offers calmer water for beginners and families.
A flat paved path connects the campground loop to the day-use area, lagoon, and riverfront. It is stroller and wheelchair friendly and makes an easy evening walk from an RV site.
Anglers can cast from the shoreline or launch a boat to target smallmouth bass, walleye, and seasonal salmon runs. A current Washington fishing license is required.
About 25 minutes south in Wenatchee, this paved 10 mile loop follows both banks of the Columbia River. It is a flat, family friendly ride well suited to bikes carried on an RV.
Rocky Reach Dam, located between Daroga and Wenatchee on US 97A on the west bank, offers a free visitor center with fish viewing windows, gardens, and exhibits on Columbia River hydropower. The site has large parking suitable for RVs and tow vehicles.
Lake Chelan State Park and the town of Chelan are about 40 minutes north and offer a full day of swimming, boating, and wineries. The drive hugs the Columbia River with wide, RV friendly shoulders.
Stayed in the camper for two nights at a campground just outside Wenatchee. Had everything we needed, the AC was an absolute saver in the summer heat. Host was incredibly responsive and nice, would happily rent again.

Best camping trip ever. We showed up at the camp site and everything was set up and hooked up. Very clean and well appointed. We will rent from them again.

Daroga State Park, WA, United States
Daroga State Park sits along US Highway 97 on the east side of the Columbia River, roughly a 25 minute drive north of Wenatchee and about 3 hours east of Seattle via US 2 over Stevens Pass. RV travelers from the west should watch for steep grades, tight curves, and seasonal snow on Stevens Pass and Blewett Pass on US 97. From the Tri-Cities, allow around 3 hours north via SR 17 and US 97, mostly on open highway with no tunnels. The closest commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Pangborn Memorial Airport in East Wenatchee, with larger service available at Spokane International and Seattle-Tacoma International.
