July and August are the prime months for RV travel, with warm, dry West Kootenay weather and the full summer beach and boating season. The water level is low in May, rises in June and is at full pond for July, August and September, so mid to late summer offers the best swimming and paddling conditions. Shoulder months of late May, June, and September bring cooler nights, fewer crowds, and easier campsite availability, though lake levels and some services may be reduced. The campground typically closes for the winter season, so RV travel is best planned between spring opening and mid-October.

Adam’s trailer was great. Well-equipped and clean. A great unit! We also appreciated him having it ready for us when we arrived. Much appreciated

Perfect communication with the owner! Quickly responded to all my questions! This trailer was clean and perfect for my husband and I! There were 2 bunks in the back which would have been perfect for a family with children!

This unit was a perfect home base for our 3 generation weekend camping trip. Grandma and Grandpa slept in the RV and we used the indoor and outdoor kitchens for preparing our meals. The AC was great on the warm days, and it was good to be able to eat indoors when the wasps were active during some of the meals. Lief was great in supporting us as needed.

Syringa Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park is roughly a 30 minute drive (about 19 km) west of Castlegar via Broadwater Road along the south shore of the Lower Arrow Lake. From Nelson, allow about 1 hour 15 minutes, and from Kelowna roughly 4 to 4.5 hours via Highway 3 and Highway 3B, which includes the Paulson Summit and Bombi Summit mountain passes that demand caution with heavy RVs, trailer brakes, and cooling systems. The final access road is paved but narrow and winding with some grades, so drivers of larger rigs should take it slow and watch for wildlife. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is West Kootenay Regional Airport (YCG) in Castlegar.
