April through early June and mid-September through early November are the best windows for RV travel, with mild days, cooler nights, and lower humidity. Spring brings blooming dogwoods and peak wildflowers, while fall delivers strong color in the hardwood forest of Crowley's Ridge. Midsummer is hot and humid with frequent thunderstorms, so shaded and electric sites fill quickly. Winter stays are possible since the park is open year-round, though some amenities and programs run on reduced schedules.

The park maintains a well-known system of singletrack mountain biking trails that wind through the loess ridges. Loops range from beginner to advanced, with a dedicated trailhead parking area suitable for vehicles with bikes.
A preserved segment of the old Memphis-to-Little Rock Military Road runs through the park and was part of the northern route of the Trail of Tears. Interpretive signage and a short walking path tell the story of forced Cherokee removal and early frontier travel.
Several family-friendly hiking trails explore the ravines and mature hardwood forest of Crowley's Ridge. Routes like the Big Ben Trail offer moderate terrain with views of creeks and wooded hollows.
The park's championship golf course features three nine-hole layouts designed by Andy Dye, winding through the rolling ridge terrain. A pro shop, practice range, and cart rentals are available on-site.
The visitor center features exhibits on Crowley's Ridge geology, pioneer history, and local wildlife. Rangers lead seasonal programs, guided hikes, and junior ranger activities for families.
A designated swim beach on Lake Dunn offers a sandy entry, shaded picnic areas, and nearby restrooms. It is a popular cool-down spot during hot summer afternoons.

Village Creek State Park, AR, United States
The park lies just east of Wynne, Arkansas, off Highway 284, roughly a 50 mile drive west of Memphis, Tennessee via Interstate 40 and about 120 miles east of Little Rock. Memphis International Airport is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers, approximately one hour away by RV. Access roads are paved and grades are gentle compared to mountain parks, but the final approach includes some winding ridge roads, so drivers of longer rigs should take curves slowly and watch for low-hanging branches on secondary park roads. There are no tunnels or major mountain passes on the route.
