Late June through early September offers the most reliable weather for RV travel, with warm daytime temperatures and all park taps and facilities in operation. July and August are peak months for campground use, so arriving early in the day improves the odds of securing a first-come, first-served site. Shoulder-season visits in late spring and early fall are quieter and eligible for reduced senior rates, though water taps are shut off during the off-season. Winter visits are not practical as services are closed.

The day-use and picnic area sits near the Moyie River with tables among the trees. It is an easy stop for lunch or a stretch break for RV travellers on Highway 3/95. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/yahk/
There are opportunities for canoeing or kayaking in this park. The Moyie River is fast moving, especially during spring runoff, and visitors should use caution when near the banks of the river. bcparks.ca/yahk-park/
Locals fish for trout in the Moyie River. Anyone fishing in British Columbia must have an appropriate licence. bcparks.ca/yahk-park/
The park offers 26 vehicle-accessible campsites. Four of these campsites (sites 3, 6, 15, 24) have sand-filled tent pads, and both reservations and first-come, first-served stays are available. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/yahk/
The adjacent town of Yahk has services and tourist supplies, sitting immediately on the south edge of the park. It is a convenient walk from the campground for travellers needing supplies. bcparks.ca/yahk-park/
The forested riverside setting supports birds and small wildlife typical of the East Kootenay region. Quiet morning walks through the campground loops offer the best chances to spot them.
Bicycles must keep to roadways, bicycle helmets are mandatory in British Columbia, and e-bikes are restricted to park roads and areas where motorized use is permitted. bcparks.ca/yahk-park/

Yahk Provincial Park, BC, Canada
Yahk Provincial Park is located along Highway 3/95, 70 km south of Cranbrook and 14.5 km north of the U.S. and Canadian borders at Kingsgate. From Cranbrook the drive takes roughly one hour on a paved highway suitable for RVs, while travellers coming from Creston can reach the park in about 45 minutes by heading east on Highway 3 through the Moyie River valley. RVs approaching from Salmo or the west must cross the Kootenay Pass (Highway 3 summit, 1,774 m), a long mountain grade that requires low gears and careful brake management in larger rigs. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook. Watch for wildlife on the highway and use caution on river banks during spring runoff.
