May through September offers the best RV camping experience, with warm, dry weather and open roads. May is exceptional for waterfall viewing due to snowmelt, while June through August provide peak warm conditions but also peak crowds. October offers quieter exploration with pleasant fall weather, though higher-elevation roads and Tioga Pass typically close by early November due to snow. Spring and fall shoulder seasons require caution, as Tioga Road (Highway 120 East) closes from early November through late May, and Glacier Point Road closes from November through May.
Heavy snow in higher elevations; roads require chains; Tioga Road and Glacier Point Road closed
Tioga Road and Glacier Point Road remain closed; cold nights frequent
Tioga Road still closed; spring snowmelt increases water flow and avalanche danger on some trails
Tioga Road typically still closed; Mariposa Grove Road opens mid-April; some trails still snow-covered

Hot and dry; still very crowded; afternoon thunderstorms possible at higher elevations
Summer crowds thin; weather remains warm and pleasant; early snowfall possible at Tuolumne Meadows by month end

Bridalveil Fall is a 620-foot waterfall that cascades into Yosemite Valley with a misty spray. This easy 0.5-mile round-trip walk starts from a dedicated RV parking area and offers stunning views of the granite cliffs. It is accessible year-round when roads are open.
Lower Yosemite Fall is an easy one-mile loop trail that leads to the base of North America's tallest waterfall. The fall plunges 2,425 feet total from top to base of the lower section, and the trailhead is accessible from Yosemite Village parking with free shuttle service. Water flow peaks in late spring.
The Mist Trail leads to 317-foot Vernal Fall and is one of Yosemite's most iconic hikes. The trail climbs 1,000 feet over 3 miles round-trip, with spray from the falls wetting hikers on the return. The trailhead is accessible via free valley shuttle from designated RV parking.
Glacier Point offers panoramic views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and the High Sierra from a 7,214-foot overlook. The scenic drive is 16 miles one-way from Yosemite Village. Sentinel Dome hike is a moderate 2.2-mile round-trip from the Glacier Point parking area with 360-degree views.
Mariposa Grove contains over 500 ancient giant sequoias, the largest trees on Earth. A two-mile loop trail showcases the massive trees within a scenic forest setting. A paved two-mile loop accommodates those with mobility limitations; longer trails extend to 6+ miles.
Tuolumne Meadows is a high-elevation (8,600 feet) alpine meadow with dozens of day-hike options, calm lakes, and granite peaks. Popular short walks include Cathedral Lakes, Tenaya Lake, and Lembert Dome. Accessed via Tioga Road, which closes November through May.
Curry Village offers shopping, dining, and lodging in the heart of Yosemite Valley. Free shuttle buses connect to all major valley attractions, trailheads, and parking areas. The valley loop provides flat, scenic walking paths with views of El Capitan and Half Dome.

Yosemite National Park, CA, United States
Yosemite is accessible year-round via Highway 41 (south entrance, near Fresno, 4-5 hours), Highway 140 (west entrance, near Merced, 2-3 hours), and Highway 120 West (northwest entrance, near Moccasin, 3-4 hours). Highway 120 East (Tioga Pass) closes November through May and is the only direct eastern access. Nearest commercial airports are Fresno (4 hours) and San Francisco (3.5 hours). RV drivers must note tunnel height restrictions: Wawona Tunnel on Highway 41 limits vehicles to 10 feet 2 inches; Glacier Point Road restricts RVs to 30 feet maximum. Many high-mountain roads have steep grades and tight turns requiring low-gear descent.
