In the summer months, interpretive programs are offered to connect visitors to nature and the history of the park. Off the water, families staying at Leduc #1 Campground can walk to the Canadian Energy Museum, built on the site of the 1947 Leduc No. 1 oil well. Leduc #1 Campground provides washrooms, showers, power and water hook-ups, picnic tables and fire pits, with the nearest dump station 1 km north on Hwy 60 in the Devon Industrial Area. One local quirk to plan for: non-biting midges are present at Pigeon Lake throughout the spring and summer, with short life cycles that can result in large swarms.
