This state park is located just under an hour north of Kansas City and consists of serene woodlands around an oxbow lake. The park takes its name from explorers Lewis and Clark, who are believed to have discovered the park's lake during their 1804 expedition. Lewis and Clark State Park is a bird watcher’s paradise, with great blue herons, eagles, and snowy egrets spotted along the lake.
