$$$$$Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park is a 2,550-hectare Natural Environment park situated along the historic Mattawa River in Mattawa, Ontario, just off Highway 17 East. Steeped in fur trade heritage, the park follows the ancient Voyageur canoe route and offers a compelling mix of outdoor adventure and cultural discovery in the heart of Northern Ontario. Campers can choose from 209 sites, including electrical hookups with 30-amp service, water hookups, and 21 pull-through sites well-suited for RVs. On-site facilities include modern comfort stations with showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, picnic tables, firewood, and multiple playgrounds for families. Three boat launches and a dock provide easy access to the Mattawa River, where canoeing, whitewater paddling, kayaking, and fishing are all popular pursuits. Hiking trails wind through the park's boreal landscape, delivering stunning views and exceptional fall foliage. The Mattawa River Visitor Centre offers interpretive displays on the region's natural and cultural history, while guided Voyageur canoe programs add a unique experiential element. With its rich landscape, comprehensive amenities, and proximity to the town of Mattawa, Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park is an ideal base camp for exploring Northern Ontario's wilderness.

Tracey has a fantastic RV - clean, comfortable, and impressively well-stocked with everything you might need for a weekend getaway. We had a great time, and the whole experience was smooth from start to finish. One of the standout parts was how flexible she was with pickup and drop-off times, which really made planning easier. If you have the chance, I’d recommend taking it out for a longer trip to really enjoy the full RV experience. No issues at all with driving or handling. Looking forward to renting it again.

We rented our first Rvezy with Laurie and it was perfect for our family if 4! The kids were comfortable in their bunk bed and we were comfortable on the table bed. Just what we needed for a weekend at the provincial park. The trailer was fully equipped with all the essentials, which saved us some time packing.
