Marble Canyon Provincial Park is a geological wonder nestled in British Columbia's Cariboo Chilcotin region, located between the pristine Turquoise and Crown Lakes near Cache Creek. The park is distinguished by its rare limestone and marble-streaked canyon carved by glacial activity, and notably features stromatolites—living organisms with prehistoric origins found at only a few sites worldwide.
This 30-site campground (first come, first served) offers essential RV amenities including grills, water hookups, tables, firewood, and toilet facilities, plus a playground for families. The park caters to adventure enthusiasts year-round, with summer activities including fishing in three trout-filled lakes, swimming, scuba diving with seasonal mooring buoys, hiking along scenic trails, canoeing, kayaking, and birdwatching. Winter transforms the canyon into an ice climbing destination, earning it the nickname "Cinderella of BC rock" among climbers for its easily accessed icefalls and dozens of routes.
The one-kilometre self-guided walking trail offers accessible exploration of the stunning geological formations. The area provides rich opportunities for outdoor recreation while maintaining a quieter, nature-focused atmosphere. Nearby attractions include the historic Hat Creek Ranch and the charming town of Lillooet, making this park an ideal base for exploring the Thompson Shuswap region.
