Miami State Fishing Lake is a scenic 101-acre reservoir nestled in Miami County, Kansas, surrounded by approximately 150 acres of timbered hillsides and bordered by the Marais des Cygnes River. Located off 387th Street in northeastern Kansas, this tranquil state fishing lake offers a peaceful natural retreat for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and black crappie, making it a popular destination for fishing year-round. Facilities include a boat ramp with a courtesy dock, 14 ADA-accessible earthen fishing piers, vault toilets, a kiosk, and two parking areas. Primitive camping is permitted on the earthen piers, allowing visitors to enjoy an overnight stay close to the water. Hunting is permitted by legal means during set seasons, adding to the site's year-round appeal. The lake was fully renovated in 2001 with new habitat construction and fish restocking, ensuring healthy fish populations. Swimming and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
