La Manche Provincial Park is a scenic campground nestled along Newfoundland and Labrador's rugged east coast, just south of St. John's off Route 10. Set within the Maritime Barrens ecoregion, the park features a striking mix of boreal forest, bogs, freshwater ponds, and dramatic coastal landscapes. The campground offers forested campsites, including sites with electrical hookups (30 and 50 amp service), each equipped with a picnic table and fire grate. Campers have access to hot showers, flush toilets, a playground, a trailer dump station, and firewood for purchase. A highlight of the park is the iconic suspension bridge spanning a river gorge at the site of the abandoned fishing village of La Manche, where visitors can explore historic ruins. Hiking trails wind through the park, including a scenic route to La Manche Falls, and the area connects to the renowned East Coast Trail. Water enthusiasts can canoe or kayak along the river, while a beach on La Manche Pond offers swimming opportunities. With excellent wildlife viewing and stargazing, La Manche Provincial Park delivers an authentic Newfoundland outdoor experience.
