Took this van for a weekend. Gotta say it was comfy, and cozy. There was more than enough space to put things. I was Supprised with how good the fan worked at nite, it actually got to cold at one point. Kyle the owner is easy to deal with. He’s very nice and helpful guy who replies fast and very easy to get ahold of if need be. I had an exceptionally good weekend and I’m sure the next person to take this van will 1000% enjoy there’s to.

We rented the van for a week in Gros Morne park. It was perfect for camping and exploring! Kyle was easy to work with, communicative and professional. He gave us tips for the area and was always available if we had questions. The van was exactly as advertised - a cozy place to sleep after a day of adventure. The cooler kept food cold for ~2 days in the summer with a bag of ice. The temperature in the van was great day and night, especially with the fan.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Massey Drive, NL

How much does an RV rental in Massey Drive typically cost?

An RV rental in Massey Drive is one of the most affordable ways to explore Newfoundland's west coast. On RVezy, you'll generally find travel trailers from around $100 to $180 CAD per night, campervans from $150 to $225, and Class C motorhomes from $200 to $300, depending on size and season. For a cheap RV rental in Massey Drive, book a travel trailer in June or September when summer demand softens but Gros Morne is still gorgeous. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings and message the host about weekly discounts. Many hosts offer 10 to 15 percent off for 7+ night stays, which pairs perfectly with the loop drive up the Viking Trail.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Massey Drive?

A regular Class 5 driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Massey Drive, no special RV endorsement or commercial license required for the motorhomes and trailers you'll find on RVezy. Approved renters are generally 25 or older, and ID confirmation happens right inside the platform during booking, so there's no paperwork dance at pickup. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home country's license plus an International Driving Permit (usually under $25 from your local auto club) and you're set. Most first-time renters from St. John's, Halifax, or even abroad are surprised how quickly the approval moves.

Is my Massey Drive RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Every RV rental in Massey Drive booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can roll toward Gros Morne with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover accidental damage to the RV, and you choose your coverage level during checkout. Higher tiers reduce your financial responsibility for repairs, which is reassuring when you're navigating gravel pull-outs near Bonne Bay or coastal winds along Route 450. Pro tip: review the coverage options carefully at booking and ask the host about any extras they recommend for the Viking Trail.

What if I need to cancel my Massey Drive RV trip?

You can book with confidence: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not the host), and every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you confirm, so a quick change of plans won't sting. Beyond that window, the refund depends on how far out from your trip you cancel, and RVezy also has accommodations for major disruptions like extreme weather, which matters on Newfoundland's west coast where the occasional Atlantic storm rolls through. Pro tip: lock in your Massey Drive RV trip dates early for July and August (Gros Morne fills up fast), knowing you've got flexibility if life shifts. Reach RVezy support anytime before, during, or after your trip.

Can I bring my dog on a Massey Drive RV rental?

Yes, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental in Massey Drive. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see listings that welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) right at the top. Once you're on the road, Parks Canada campgrounds throughout Gros Morne National Park (Berry Hill, Shallow Bay, Lomond, Trout River, Green Point) all allow leashed pets at campsites and on most trails, though dogs aren't allowed on the Western Brook Pond boat tour and some sensitive trails. Pro tip: Margaret Bowater Park right in Corner Brook is a beautiful pre-trip leg-stretch for your pup before heading north on Route 430.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Massey Drive?

Yes, RV delivery in Massey Drive is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drive the motorhome or travel trailer right to your campsite at Blow Me Down Provincial Park, Berry Hill, or even your driveway in Corner Brook, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Delivery fees are set by the host and are typically based on distance from their location. Pro tip: ask about a stationary setup at one campground for the week. You skip the driving entirely and use a tow car or rentals for day trips to the Tablelands.

From Massey Drive you're perfectly positioned: Gros Morne Visitor Centre is about 75 km north, Rocky Harbour around 100 km, the Tablelands roughly 95 km, Port aux Basques (ferry to Nova Scotia) about 215 km south, and L'Anse aux Meadows UNESCO site near St. Anthony around 470 km north. Where are the best campgrounds near Massey Drive?

You're spoiled for choice. Within an easy drive of Massey Drive, the best campgrounds include Blow Me Down Provincial Park (oceanfront sites with hiking), Berry Hill Campground inside Gros Morne (serviced and unserviced sites with showers), Shallow Bay Campground near Cow Head (sandy beach sites), Lomond Campground on beautiful Bonne Bay, and Gros Morne/Norris Point KOA in Rocky Harbour (full hookups and laundry). For RV camping Massey Drive locals love, Blow Me Down is the closest scenic option. Pro tip: book Parks Canada sites the moment the reservation window opens in January at reservation.pc.gc.ca, especially Berry Hill for July weekends.

When is the best time of year for a Massey Drive RV trip?

The sweet spot for an RV rental in Newfoundland's west coast is mid-June through mid-September, when daytime highs in the Humber Valley sit between roughly 17C and 23C, the Viking Trail is fully open, and Parks Canada campgrounds are running at full service. July and August are warmest and busiest; late June and early September offer fewer crowds, lower nightly rates, and stunning fall colour on the Long Range Mountains by mid-September. Pro tip: target the third week of September for shoulder-season magic, moose are more visible, bugs are gone, and you'll often have Tablelands viewpoints almost to yourself.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay in Massey Drive?

Absolutely, first time renting an RV in Massey Drive is genuinely doable, and you won't be tossed the keys without a plan. Every RVezy host gives you a walkthrough at pickup covering propane, water, electrical, slide-outs, dump procedure, and driving tips for the Trans-Canada Highway and Route 430. You can message your host anytime through the app, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with your booking. Pro tip: pick a smaller Class B campervan or 22-foot travel trailer for your first trip. They handle just like a large pickup on the gently winding stretch between Massey Drive and Deer Lake, and parking at Berry Hill or Lomond is a breeze.

What happens if I have a breakdown or issue on the road near Massey Drive?

You're covered: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking, so a flat tire near Wiltondale or a battery hiccup at Lomond is a phone call away from being solved. The roadside team can dispatch help across Newfoundland, including the more remote stretches of the Viking Trail where cell service can be patchy. You can also message your host directly, they know their RV best and can often troubleshoot small things in minutes. Pro tip: before leaving Massey Drive, download offline maps for the Northern Peninsula and save the RVezy support number in your phone so it's one tap away.

Can I take my Massey Drive RV rental to Nova Scotia or other provinces?

Often yes, an RV road trip from Massey Drive across the Marine Atlantic ferry to North Sydney, Nova Scotia is a classic Atlantic Canada itinerary, and many hosts are happy to allow it. Cross-province travel within Canada is generally permitted with host approval, since insurance and protection follow you. Travel to the United States may also be allowed depending on the host, just confirm before booking. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: book your Marine Atlantic ferry from Port aux Basques (about 2.5 hours south of Massey Drive) several months ahead for summer, RV-length sailings sell out quickly, and message your host to confirm cross-province plans in writing.

What should I budget for fuel on a Massey Drive RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable, but it's predictable once you plan. Expect a Class C motorhome to get roughly 18 to 22 L/100 km, a campervan rental Massey Drive style around 12 to 15 L/100 km, and a truck-and-trailer combo around 20 to 25 L/100 km. Gas in the Corner Brook and Massey Drive area is regulated by the NL Public Utilities Board and typically runs a few cents above the national average. For a 1,000 km loop up to St. Anthony and back, budget roughly $350 to $500 CAD in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Deer Lake or Pasadena before heading north, prices climb noticeably past Wiltondale, and stations thin out beyond Port au Choix.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Massey Drive?

For peak summer (July and August), book Parks Canada campgrounds in Gros Morne the moment reservations open, usually mid to late January, through the Parks Canada Reservation Service at reservation.pc.gc.ca. Provincial parks like Blow Me Down and Sir Richard Squires open their reservations in early spring at NLCamping.ca. Private parks (Gros Morne/Norris Point KOA, Gros Morne RV Campground) are best booked 3 to 6 months out. Pro tip: if you didn't snag a Berry Hill site, Shallow Bay near Cow Head often has last-minute openings and gives you the best beach in the park, plus easier access to Western Brook Pond boat tours.
reservation.pc.gc.ca/

What are the driving conditions like around Massey Drive?

Driving an RV in and around Massey Drive is refreshingly easy, the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1) is wide, well-maintained, and gently graded as it skirts the Humber Arm. Route 430 (the Viking Trail) north toward Gros Morne is paved the whole way with manageable hills and beautiful coastal views. Watch for two real-world hazards: moose, especially at dawn and dusk between Deer Lake and Wiltondale, and crosswinds along exposed sections near Bonne Bay. Snow can linger into May at higher elevations. Pro tip: drive the Viking Trail in daylight only, keep your speed reasonable, and pull into the rest area at South Brook for one of the best Humber Arm photo stops on the island.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Massey Drive?

You'll find a great mix. Inside Gros Morne National Park, Berry Hill and Green Point offer serviced sites with 15/30-amp electricity, water, fire pits, flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station; Trout River and Lomond are unserviced but have comfort stations and dump stations. Blow Me Down Provincial Park has electrified sites and showers. For full hookups including sewer, head to Gros Morne/Norris Point KOA or Gros Morne RV Campground in Rocky Harbour. Pro tip: top up fresh water before leaving Massey Drive, and plan one full-hookup night mid-trip at the KOA to dump, do laundry, and recharge before the quieter unserviced parks farther north.

What's actually inside the RVs available in Massey Drive?

You'll be impressed by how well-equipped a typical motorhome rental in Massey Drive is. Most RVs on RVezy come with real beds (queen in the master, plus convertible dinettes and often bunks), a kitchen with fridge/freezer, stovetop, microwave and often an oven, a bathroom with shower and toilet, furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Many include a generator, propane BBQ, outdoor chairs, and basic kitchenware. Wi-Fi varies; Starlink-equipped rigs are becoming more common. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm essentials like linens, a coffee maker, and whether the generator runs the AC, especially handy for a family RV trip Massey Drive to Gros Morne in July's warmest stretch.

What add-ons and pickup options are available in Massey Drive?

Common Massey Drive add-ons include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits, camping chairs and BBQs, bike racks, generators, and pet packages, with pricing set by each host. Pickup is typically at the host's home in Massey Drive, Corner Brook, or nearby Pasadena, with delivery available to Deer Lake Regional Airport (YDF) or directly to your campground for an additional fee. Mileage policies vary by listing, some include 100 km/day, others offer unlimited. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and linens if you're flying in to YDF. You'll step off the plane and into a ready-to-go camper within an hour.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card at booking, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A security deposit is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup, not actually charged, and released after the trip once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. Keep your tanks dumped, fuel topped off, and the interior tidy and you'll see that hold drop off cleanly. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos and a short walk-around video at both pickup and drop-off in Massey Drive. It's the easiest way to keep your deposit return smooth and stress-free.

Can I rent an RV in Massey Drive during the winter or shoulder season?

You can, and a winter or shoulder-season RV rental in Newfoundland is genuinely memorable, think snowy Tablelands, fewer tourists, and crackling campfires. Some Massey Drive hosts list four-season rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and reliable propane furnaces, perfect for late-October leaf-peeping or a March snowmobile-base trip in the Humber Valley. Use the date filter to see what's available, and always confirm with the host that the RV is winter-ready and that they'll service it for cold weather. Pro tip: plan for shore power at a campground with winter hookups, carry tire chains for the Marble Mountain area, and keep fresh water in jugs rather than the onboard tank when temps drop well below freezing.
