I took my 16 year old son and 2 adult friends to there first NFL game and to watch our Oilers in Seattle in late November. Dave's RV was the perfect accommodation for the 3 days! What was awesome was the communication with Dave prior to the rental. He answered all questions and concerns in a timely fashion. In this day and age where customer service seems to be almost no existent Dave went above and beyond. Dave went through the pre trip check with me and my son and that interaction showed he cared about us having a positive experience. With any type of rental things could go wrong, nothing did for us, but I felt reassured Dave would be there if anything did, peace of mind! RV was just what we needed for this trip. Thanks again Dave!!

Mark was a wonderful host. This was our first time traveling by RV and he was extremely patient and accommodating with all of our questions. The RV was clean when we picked it up, stocked with household items, such as; dishes, utensils, hand soap and toilet paper. The RV is spacious and comfortable and was the perfect "house on wheels" to travel in. We needed something that would get us up north fast because of an extremely ill family member, and this made our road time so much shorter than having to stop and get a hotel. We would highly recommend Mark as a host and would rent his RV again!

Chris was really great to work with! He's very personable, responsive, helpful, and flexible. He was willing to move around our pick-up to better suit our needs, within his abilities. This was greatly appreciated. He offered to give us a ride to the light rail after returning the RV. And he had great suggestions for us during our trip that helped save us time and money. We had a great time on our first RV adventure in his RV, "Miles of Smiles". Vehicle AC is being fixed, it didn't bother us. Camper AC worked great on the generator or electric hookup. We couldn't get the shower water heater to work, but we preferred the campground showers anyways. Everything else worked great on the RV. Lots of fridge/freezer space. Stove and microwave worked well as well as the propane grill if you encounter a burn ban. LOVED the Space you got with the slide out, the awning was really fun, the bunk above the cab was loved by our kids, the TV/DVD was needed at the end of a long day!, and all the storage was excellent. This was very comfortable and enjoyable ride for our 4 day adventure in Olympic and the North Cascades! Thanks so much Chris. We appreciate you!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Kent, WA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Kent, WA?

RV rental in Kent, WA fits a wide range of budgets, with travel trailers averaging around $120 per night and motorhomes averaging $200 per night on RVezy. Many Kent hosts offer 10 to 20 percent weekly and monthly discounts, which is a smart way to score a cheap RV rental in Kent for longer Pacific Northwest trips. Booking shoulder season (April to early June, or mid-September to October) typically lands lower nightly rates and easier campground availability around Puget Sound. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Kent, Washington?

Good news: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Kent, WA. Washington's Department of Licensing only requires a Commercial Driver License (CDL) for single vehicles over 26,001 pounds, and virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, and travel trailer on RVezy falls well under that threshold. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license. That's it, no test, no endorsement, no DMV trip required before your Kent RV trip.

What if I need to cancel my Kent RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear, platform-wide cancellation policy (hosts do not decide this), and it includes a grace period after you book so you have time to finalize plans. Refund eligibility depends on how far out from your trip start you cancel and any special circumstances, which matters in the Pacific Northwest where wildfire smoke or winter storms can affect mountain travel. The full details appear during checkout and in your booking confirmation, so you will know exactly where you stand before paying. Pro tip: lock in your dates early to secure your preferred Kent RV, then refine your itinerary, the flexible window gives you room to adjust.

Where can I camp with an RV near Kent, WA?

The best campgrounds near Kent cover everything from full-hookup resorts to forested state parks. Saltwater State Park in Des Moines (8 miles west) offers beachfront sites on Puget Sound with electric hookups. Dash Point State Park between Federal Way and Tacoma has 141 sites tucked into Douglas-fir forest. Kanaskat-Palmer State Park (30 miles east on the Green River) is a peaceful river retreat with utility sites. Closer to the Cascades, Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park provides 50-amp service on level gravel. Pro tip: Washington State Parks reservations open nine months in advance at washington.goingtocamp.com.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Kent?

July through September is the sweet spot for RV camping in Kent: dry, sunny days averaging 75-80°F, alpine wildflowers blooming at Mount Rainier, and reliable mountain pass conditions. June can still be wet (Kent gets most of its 39 inches of annual rain between November and May), while late September and early October bring crisp air, fall colors in the Cascades, and noticeably thinner campground crowds, a local insider favorite. Winter rentals are absolutely available too; Kent's mild lowland winters (37-47°F) make it a viable basecamp for ski trips to Crystal Mountain or Snoqualmie Pass. Just confirm with your host that the RV has heated tanks and a working furnace for cold-weather use.

I've never driven an RV. Can I really do this?

Yes, and your Kent host is going to set you up for success. Every RVezy booking includes a thorough walkthrough at pickup where the host shows you how to operate the generator, slide-outs, water systems, propane, and waste tanks, you're never handed keys and waved off. Most first-time renters in Kent choose a Class B campervan or smaller Class C (22-25 feet) because they drive a lot like a large van and fit on most state park roads. For practice, take a short loop on the Valley Freeway (SR 167) before heading to the mountains. Pro tip: book delivery and setup so your very first drive is a relaxed return trip, not a learning curve.

What happens if I break down during my Kent RV trip?

You are covered: every RVezy booking in Kent, WA includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so help is one phone call away whether you are stuck on I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass, on Chinook Pass, or in a campground loop at Ohanapecosh. The service handles tire changes, jump starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified repair shop. Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app for quick questions like resetting the inverter or relighting the water heater. Pro tip: before you leave Kent, snap photos of the breaker panel, fuse box, and propane shutoff during your walkthrough so you can troubleshoot fast if cell service drops in the Cascades.

Can I take my Kent RV rental into Canada or Oregon?

Heading south to Oregon is generally welcomed by Kent hosts, popular routes from Kent include the drive to Astoria on the Pacific coast and the longer run to Crater Lake National Park. Cross-border travel into British Columbia (Vancouver is about 145 miles north via I-5) is allowed by many hosts but requires their advance approval and confirmation that the protection plan extends to Canada, so always message the host before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan does not extend there. Pro tip: bring your passport and vehicle documentation, and confirm host approval in writing before you cross at the Peace Arch.

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and what's gas costing in Kent?

Plan your budget realistically: Class B campervans average 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 8-12 MPG, and Class A motorhomes run 6-10 MPG. As of mid-2026, regular gas in the Kent/Seattle metro typically runs about $4.20-$4.70 per gallon, among the higher prices in the country thanks to Washington's fuel taxes and the state Climate Commitment Act. For a 300-mile loop to Mount Rainier and back in a Class C, budget roughly $115-$140 in fuel. Pro tip: Costco in Kent (off James Street) and Fred Meyer on 104th Ave consistently post the lowest local prices, top off before heading to mountain towns like Ashford or Packwood where prices jump 50 cents or more per gallon.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Kent?

Book early, especially for July and August. Washington State Parks (Saltwater, Dash Point, Kanaskat-Palmer) open reservations nine months in advance at washington.goingtocamp.com, and the most coveted waterfront sites at Saltwater fill within minutes of release. Mount Rainier's Cougar Rock and other park campgrounds release sites six months out on Recreation.gov and routinely sell out the same day. For private parks in the broader Puget Sound area, three to four months ahead is usually safe. Pro tip: if you strike out, keep checking for cancellations close to your dates, they pop up regularly.

What should I know about driving an RV around Kent and the Puget Sound?

Kent sits in the Green River Valley between Seattle and Tacoma, so a few local realities make your trip smoother. Rush hour on I-5 and SR 167 (the Valley Freeway) is brutal between 6-9 a.m. and 3-7 p.m., aim to leave Kent before or after those windows. Watch low clearances under the BNSF rail bridges along Willis Street and James Street if you're in a tall Class A or Class C (most max around 12-13 feet). Mountain passes like Stevens, Snoqualmie, and Chinook can require traction tires or chains from November through March; WSDOT posts real-time pass conditions. Pro tip: use delivery if you're nervous about urban driving, your host can drop the rig at your campsite.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/real-time-travel/mountain-passes/pass-reports

What hookups and dump stations can I expect at Kent-area campgrounds?

Most established campgrounds near Kent offer some mix of 30/50-amp electric, potable water, and sewer. Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor and Lake Pleasant RV Park (Bothell) have full hookups at every site; Saltwater and Dash Point State Parks have electric and water but no sewer at the site, you'll use the on-site dump station before leaving. Mount Rainier's Cougar Rock has no hookups at all (it's a dry camping experience). For dumping en route, the SeaTac Rest Area on I-5 southbound has a free public dump station, a well-known local hack for RVers returning to Kent. Pro tip: fill fresh water before leaving the host and your tanks will last 3-4 days easily.
parks.wa.gov/find-activity/activity-search/camping

What's actually inside the RVs available in Kent?

Kent's RV rental inventory is genuinely impressive. Expect comfortable sleeping for 2-8 (queen beds, convertible dinettes, bunk beds in family-friendly Class Cs), full kitchens with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and most have an indoor bathroom with toilet and shower. Many listings include a roof AC, propane furnace, generator or solar, outdoor speakers, and awning. Higher-end campervan rentals in Kent often add Starlink Wi-Fi, induction cooktops, and lithium battery banks ideal for boondocking in the Olympics. Federal law requires every passenger to have a seatbelt while moving, so confirm seatbelt count matches your group during booking. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count and message the host for a video walkthrough if you want to see exact layout before booking.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safety

What add-ons and pickup options do Kent hosts typically offer?

Kent hosts make customization easy. Popular add-ons include bedding and linen packages ($25-$75), camp chairs and outdoor tables ($10-$25), kitchen kits with cookware and dishes ($25-$50), generators or extra propane, bike racks, and even kayaks or paddleboards for Lake Meridian or Lake Wilderness day trips. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Kent, Auburn, Renton, or Federal Way, and many offer Sea-Tac Airport meetups (just 7 miles northwest) for fly-in travelers. Mileage policies are typically 100-150 free miles per night with $0.35-$0.50 per mile beyond that, and many Kent hosts include unlimited mileage for trips under a set distance. Pro tip: bundle delivery + setup + linens for a one-tap, fully-prepared start to your motorhome rental in Kent.

How do payment and the security deposit work for a Kent RV rental?

Payment is straightforward and secure: you pay directly through RVezy with a credit or debit card during booking, never in cash to the host. The total includes the nightly rate, RVezy service fee, your chosen protection plan, and any add-ons or delivery fees you select. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment and pre-authorized before pickup, not charged unless there is an issue, and released after a clean return. Pro tip: do a quick walk-around video with your host at pickup and drop-off, capturing the exterior, interior, mileage, and fuel level. That documentation makes the deposit return process effortless and protects everyone.
