Anthony’s 12’ GeoPro trailer was a great rental experience. It was easy to connect and disconnect, which made pickup and drop-off simple and stress-free. The trailer had everything we needed, including a table, chairs, bedding, cookware, cutlery, and place settings. The kitchen was a huge bonus and made the trip much more comfortable. Overall, it was well-equipped, easy to use, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

Mark was a wonderful host. This was our first time traveling by RV and he was extremely patient and accommodating with all of our questions. The RV was clean when we picked it up, stocked with household items, such as; dishes, utensils, hand soap and toilet paper. The RV is spacious and comfortable and was the perfect "house on wheels" to travel in. We needed something that would get us up north fast because of an extremely ill family member, and this made our road time so much shorter than having to stop and get a hotel. We would highly recommend Mark as a host and would rent his RV again!

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and how much will gas cost?

Plan on roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG) for a Class C motorhome, 6 to 8 MPG for a Class A, and 14 to 18 MPG for a truck or SUV towing a travel trailer. Washington gas prices typically run above the national average, so check current rates when budgeting your trip. A round trip from Lake Stevens to Mount Rainier (about 260 miles) in a Class C will use roughly 26 to 32 gallons of fuel. Stock up at Costco in Marysville or the Tulalip Costco for some of the cheapest gas in the area before you head out, an easy 15-minute detour that pays off quickly.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Lake Stevens?

For peak summer weekends (July and August), book your campsite 3 to 6 months ahead, especially at popular spots like Flowing Lake Park, Wenberg County Park, and any Washington State Park within 90 minutes. Snohomish County Parks campsites can be reserved online through their reservation system, and Washington State Parks use the Washington State Parks reservation portal, which opens bookings 9 months in advance. Weekdays and shoulder season (May, September) are far easier and you can often find sites within 2 to 4 weeks. Pro tip: if you strike out, check Hipcamp for private farm and ranch sites, which are abundant in the Snohomish Valley.

What are the driving conditions like around Lake Stevens?

Driving an RV in and around Lake Stevens is generally easy: it's a lakeside town with wide suburban roads and quick access to Highway 9 and US-2. The main things to watch are I-5 traffic between Everett and Seattle during weekday rush hour (3 to 7 p.m.), narrow shoulders on the Mountain Loop Highway east of Granite Falls, and Stevens Pass on US-2, which can require chains during winter months. For stress-free city driving, having your host deliver the RV directly to your campsite is a great option.

Lake Pleasant RV Park in Bothell offers full 30/50-amp hookups, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Thousand Trails Thunderbird in Monroe has full hookups, a pool, and a clubhouse. For dumping and freshwater on the go, Camping World in Burlington and many Pilot/Flying J stations along I-5 have public dump stations for around $10 to $15. Most local campgrounds are open year-round, though some loops close from October through April.

Many Lake Stevens motorhome rentals include a generator or solar setup, a TV, and outdoor camp chairs. Wi-Fi varies, and cell service is solid in town and at most local campgrounds but spotty east of Granite Falls in the Cascades. Each listing's amenities tab shows you exactly what's included, and you can message the host to confirm specifics like a coffee maker or kid's bedding.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit or debit card, never in cash to the host. Most hosts require a refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV class) that's pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup and released after dropoff, assuming the RV comes back in the condition it left. To avoid issues, take photos at pickup and dropoff, follow the host's checklist, and return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip if anything needs sorting out.

How do I handle rainy Pacific Northwest weather in an RV?

Rain is part of the charm of a Lake Stevens RV trip, and an RV is honestly the best way to enjoy it. The wet season runs November through April, with substantial annual rainfall, but summer is surprisingly dry (July averages just over an inch). Your rental will have a full roof, heating, and dry storage, so you can cozy up with a book while the rain taps the roof. Most hosts include an outdoor awning, perfect for keeping the campfire going during light drizzle. Local insider tip: pair a rainy day with a brewery tour through Snohomish or a scenic drive along the Mountain Loop Highway for a true Pacific Northwest experience.
