2019 Pleasure-Way Class B
We had a great week travelling from Calgary to Kelowna and back. The van was clean and comfortable. Mark was great to deal with, honest and he communicated well. Because of the solar, inverter power and fresh water tank, we were able to save a little by camping at non-serviced sites (mostly in National or Provincial Parks). And the Nespresso coffee and fresh pears from their tree were great bonuses!

You'll find options for every style, from lakeshore luxury to rustic nature escapes.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Kelowna?

The best time to rent an RV in Kelowna is late May through mid-September, when days are sunny (20 to 32°C/68 to 90°F) and the Okanagan is all about beach life and vineyards. Early fall (mid-September to early October) is a local secret: cooler evenings but warm days, thinner crowds, and stunning fall colors. Winter (November to March) is possible, but expect sub-zero temperatures and check for winterized RVs with heated tanks. Spring is beautiful for wildflowers and pre-peak camping. How much should I budget for fuel on an RV road trip from Kelowna?

Fuel costs are a big part of any RV road trip from Kelowna. Class C motorhomes average 18 to 22 L/100km (13 to 16 mpg), while travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. As of spring 2024, gas in Kelowna runs around $1.60 to $1.80 CAD/litre. For a round-trip to Revelstoke (roughly 400 km), budget $120 to $160 CAD for fuel in a motorhome. Plan extra for mountain routes or the Coquihalla Highway. Fuel up near the city: rural prices are higher. Pro tip: Kelowna's stations are easy-access and often cheaper than smaller towns.

How far ahead should I reserve a campground near Kelowna?

For the best campgrounds near Kelowna, such as Bear Creek Provincial Park or Wood Lake RV Park, reserve as soon as you know your dates: ideally 3 to 6 months ahead for summer weekends. BC Parks reservation system opens 4 months in advance and fills up fast for prime sites. Private parks like Holiday Park Resort may have more flexible availability. Shoulder season trips are easier to book last-minute. Always research and book online through official park websites for legitimate reservation links: it's the surest way to lock in your lakeside stay.

What's it like to drive an RV in and around Kelowna?

Driving around Kelowna is a breeze for most RVs, thanks to wide roads and clearly marked routes. Lakeshore Road and Highway 97 are both RV-friendly, but watch for occasional summer congestion near beaches and downtown. When heading to the mountains, expect winding climbs and occasional wildlife crossings. If city driving feels stressful, RV delivery in Kelowna is a popular choice: your rental meets you at your campground, no nerves required. Parking tip: Downtown has height clearance restrictions, so pre-plan city stops.

What hookups and dumping facilities do Kelowna campgrounds offer for RVs?

Most campgrounds around Kelowna provide full or partial hookups. Bear Creek Provincial Park has serviced and unserviced sites, while Holiday Park Resort and Wood Lake RV Park offer water, electric, and sewer at each site. Public sani-dump stations can be found at several city parks and at the Canadian Tire at 1876 Cooper Rd. In winter, check that your RV is winterized before using campground water connections. Insider tip: Always bring a hose and sewer adapter for easy hookups: Kelowna makes it easy to stay comfortable on your RV adventure.

What features or amenities should I expect in a typical Kelowna RV rental?

RV rentals in Kelowna usually include comfy beds, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave), dining area, and bathroom with shower. Larger models feature TVs, air conditioning, and generators. Nearly all have seatbelts for each traveler, some with extra winter gear for colder nights. Many hosts offer optional add-ons like camping chairs, firepits, or linens. WiFi is rare unless you bring your own hotspot. Each listing shows detailed amenities, so you can match your RV to your style of adventure: glamping or back-to-basics.

What add-ons or extras can I get with my Kelowna RV rental?

Get more out of your Kelowna RV rental with popular add-ons like BBQs, kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes: perfect for Okanagan Lake adventures. Hosts also offer essentials like linen kits, generators, or extra camping gear for a stress-free getaway. Add-ons and fees are listed on each RVezy listing. For pickup and dropoff, you can arrange timing directly with the host through the site. Planning a group trip? Filter for RVs that sleep 6+ so everyone's comfortable. Your next family RV trip in Kelowna is truly customizable.

How does payment work for my Kelowna RV rental, and what about the security deposit?

The amount is clearly listed before you pay: no surprises. As long as you follow the rental agreement and return the RV clean and undamaged, the deposit is released promptly after your trip. For smooth sailing, read your host's notes and bring the RV back on time. You can explore Okanagan with extra peace of mind.
