Late June through early September offers the most reliable RV camping conditions, with warm, dry days, open highway passes, and full campground services including potable water and flush toilets. July and August are the peak tourism months in the Columbia Valley, so reservations are strongly recommended. May and mid to late September make good shoulder-season options for quieter sites and cooler hiking weather, though nights can be cold and some services may be reduced.

Soaking in the mineral hot pools of Radium Hot Springs is the area's signature activity, just a short drive north of the park in Sinclair Canyon. The hot pool water is kept between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius, and a cooler swimming pool is available beside it. Large paved parking at the facility typically accommodates RVs. parkscanada.gc.ca/en/voyage-travel/promotion/sources-springs/radium
The Columbia Wetlands at the headwaters of the Columbia River are a renowned birdwatchers' paradise adjacent to the park. Viewing platforms and pullouts along Highway 93/95 offer easy RV-friendly stops for spotting waterfowl, raptors, and songbirds. bcparks.ca/dry-gulch-park/
Highway 93 North climbs from Radium through Kootenay National Park, passing Sinclair Canyon, the Paint Pots, and Marble Canyon. The drive is paved and RV-accessible, though it includes steep grades that require careful gearing and attention to brake temperatures.
Lake Windermere, near Invermere about 15 km south of the park, offers warm summer swimming, paddleboarding, and windsurfing. James Chabot Provincial Park on the north end has a sandy beach and day-use parking suitable for smaller RVs and tow vehicles.
The Old Coach Trail between Radium Hot Springs and Invermere follows the historic wagon route with sweeping Columbia Valley views. Several trailheads with roadside parking provide moderate walking and cycling access close to the park.
Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and deer are often seen grazing on the steep glacial moraine slopes surrounding the campground. Early morning and dusk are the best times to watch quietly from a safe distance. bcparks.ca/dry-gulch-park/
The Upper Columbia Valley is home to a cluster of destination golf courses near Radium Hot Springs and Fairmont Hot Springs. Courses are all within a short drive of Dry Gulch and typically offer ample RV and trailer parking.

Communication should have been 6 stars. Best I’ve ever had! What a treat to have a fresh travel trailer delivered to our camping spot with everything ready. All we had to do was unload our food and clothing, lean back and relax. Great weekend! Thank you.

Dry Gulch Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park is located 4.5 km south of Radium Hot Springs off Highway 93/95 in British Columbia's Columbia Valley. From Calgary, it is roughly a 3 to 3.5 hour drive (about 270 km) west via the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 93 through Kootenay National Park, which includes steep grades and the narrow Sinclair Canyon descent into Radium, a route RV drivers should take slowly. From Cranbrook, plan about 1.5 hours north on Highway 93/95, and from Vancouver allow 9 to 10 hours via Highways 1 and 95. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Calgary International Airport (YYC).
