The park reaches peak visitation during July and August when water temperatures are warmest and voyageur canoe tours operate. Shoulder seasons (May and early October) provide quieter conditions with cooler temperatures and beautiful scenery; spring features fresh greenery while fall brings striking foliage, though visitors should expect cooler nights.
