Late June through early October is the prime window for RV travel to Tettegouche. Summer brings warm temperatures, full waterfall flow after snowmelt, and all facilities open, while late September into early October delivers peak fall color across the Sawtooth Mountains and much smaller crowds. Spring can be muddy with lingering ice on trails, and winter visits are possible for day use and limited camping, but snow and ice on access roads are a factor for larger rigs.

High Falls is a roughly 70-foot waterfall on the Baptism River and the tallest waterfall located entirely within Minnesota. The route from the main trailhead is about 1.5 miles each way and includes a suspension bridge over the river. RV parking is available at the main trailhead lot off Highway 61.
Shovel Point is a dramatic volcanic cliff overlook on Lake Superior reached by a short trail from the visitor center, offering sweeping views of the Sawtooth shoreline. Nearby Palisade Head provides additional cliff-top views accessed by a short paved road. The visitor center lot accommodates RVs; the Palisade Head spur is narrow and better suited to smaller rigs.
Two Step Falls is a multi-tier cascade on the Baptism River downstream of High Falls, reached by a short hike with stone stairs. The round trip from the main trailhead runs about 1 mile. Good option for visitors who want a shorter waterfall hike from the same RV-accessible lot.
The Superior Hiking Trail cuts through the park and connects ridgelines, inland lakes, and Lake Superior overlooks. Day hikers can sample sections out and back from park trailheads without committing to a long backpack. Trail surface is rocky and rooted in places.
Tettegouche has four backcountry inland lakes where canoes and kayaks can be rented or carried in for quiet paddling. The lakes sit in a glacially carved basin ringed by cliffs and forest. Access involves a hike-in or portage from designated trailheads.
The park's Lake Superior shoreline features a cobblestone beach at the mouth of the Baptism River plus rocky coves ideal for rockhounding and sunset watching. A short walk from the trail center leads to the shore. Parking at the trail center fits most RVs.
Mount Baldy and Mount Trudee are interior summits offering panoramic views of the Sawtooth Mountains and Lake Superior. Expect steep, rocky climbs with switchbacks and exposed ledges. Best tackled in dry conditions with proper footwear.

Tettegouche State Park, MN, United States
Tettegouche is on Highway 61 about 58 miles (roughly 1 hour 15 minutes) northeast of Duluth and about 4 hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul via I-35 and Highway 61. Highway 61 is a two-lane scenic route with rolling grades, curves, and seasonal wildlife crossings, so RVers should plan for slower travel, watch for moose and deer, and fuel up in Two Harbors or Silver Bay before arrival. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Duluth International Airport (DLH), with Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) as the larger alternative about 220 miles south.
