July and August bring warm, humid weather and weekend crowds, so midweek stays are quieter. September and early October offer cooler nights, thinner mosquito pressure, and fall color along the river. April and early November are pleasant shoulder seasons for RVers, though some amenities may be on reduced hours.

The Tippecanoe River is the park's marquee attraction, offering a calm, scenic Class I float popular with canoeists and kayakers. Local liveries shuttle paddlers to upstream put-ins for half-day and full-day trips that end near the park. Expect sandy banks, turtles, and great blue herons along the route.
The park's nature center introduces visitors to the river ecosystem, oak savanna, and wetland wildlife. Interpretive staff run summer programs, guided hikes, and kids' activities. Parking at the main day-use lot accommodates tow vehicles and smaller RVs.
This wooded loop threads through pine plantations and along the river, with overlooks of quiet bends and sandbars. It connects to a network of park trails totaling more than 20 miles. Footing is mostly flat with a few modest slopes near the river.
Paved park roads and designated mountain bike trails give riders a low-traffic way to explore the park. The multi-use trail system links the campground, nature center, and river access points. Bring your own bike; rentals are not on site.
The river is known for smallmouth bass, rock bass, channel catfish, and panfish. Bank access is available at multiple day-use pull-offs, and canoes make it easy to reach productive runs. An Indiana fishing license is required for anglers 18 and older.
Tippecanoe River State Park offers a dedicated bridle trail system and a separate horsemen's campground. Riders can bring their own stock for rides through pine woods and along sandy ridges. The park is often paired with adjacent Winamac Fish and Wildlife Area for longer routes.
The mix of river, wetland, prairie, and forest makes the park a strong birding destination. Warblers, woodpeckers, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes, and waterfowl are all regularly seen. The Sand Hill Nature Preserve within the park protects rare dry prairie and savanna habitat.
