We had an amazing time with this camper! Everything worked flawlessly. The camper was easy to set up and the hosts went through everything with us beforehand to make sure we knew how to set it up properly. There was also a little booklet with step by step instructions that would answer most of our questions if we had any. I would highly recommend booking this RV if you are looking to spend some time camping! They even have us a little gift basket with s'mores and a few other things which was appreciated. Thanks again!

Do I need a special licence to rent an RV in St. Laurent, MB?

Good news: a standard Manitoba Class 5 driver's licence (or the equivalent from your home province, state, or country) is all you need to rent an RV in St. Laurent, MB. Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) confirms that Class 5 covers most cars, light trucks, and the vast majority of motorhomes and travel trailers you'll find on RVezy. You'll need to be at least 25 years old and your ID is verified right inside the RVezy platform during booking, so there's no paperwork to chase down. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit before you fly, and you're ready to hit Highway 6 toward Twin Lakes Beach.

You'll see the full policy details at checkout and in the RVezy Help Centre, and if a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds you or offers travel credit. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best motorhome rental in St. Laurent for July and August peak beach season, knowing your cancellation terms are clear and consistent.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in St. Laurent, MB?

Yes, plenty of pups are welcome on the road. Many RVezy hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in St. Laurent, and you can find them quickly by using the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page. Lake Manitoba's long sandy beaches like Laurentia Beach and Johnson Beach are great for shoulder-season walks, and Manitoba provincial parks allow leashed pets at most campgrounds, including St. Ambroise Beach and Hecla/Grindstone. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and ask about breed or size limits so your dog is set up for a smooth trip.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in St. Laurent, MB?

Yes, RV delivery is one of the most popular options on RVezy and a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many St. Laurent hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to local spots like Lake Manitoba Resort, Sunshine Resort, or a private cottage lot near Twin Lakes Beach, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Delivery fees are set by each host and vary by distance and RV size, and St. Laurent is about 75 km north of Winnipeg. Pro tip: book delivery if you're flying into Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG), grab a rideshare to your campground, and skip driving a big rig entirely.

How does mileage work and how far can I drive on my St. Laurent RV trip?

You'll have plenty of room to roam. Each host sets their own mileage policy, and many listings near St. Laurent include 100 to 200 km per day, with some offering an RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer trips. From St. Laurent you're about 75 km from Winnipeg, 180 km from Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park, roughly 320 km from Riding Mountain National Park, and around 230 km east to Whiteshell Provincial Park, so a week-long loop fits comfortably. Pro tip: check the mileage details on the listing page before booking, and if you're planning a longer RV road trip from St. Laurent, message the host. Many are happy to bundle extra kilometres into the price.

Where are the best campgrounds near St. Laurent, MB?

You're spoiled for choice. Some of the best campgrounds near St. Laurent, MB include Lake Manitoba Resort just outside town (run by the Manitoba Métis Federation, with a 9-hole golf course and full-service RV lots), Sunshine Resort right on Lake Manitoba (full hookups, sandy beach), Shallow Point Campground (rustic and quiet), Surfside Beach RV Park (family-friendly with beach access), and St. Ambroise Beach Provincial Park about 50 km south for classic Manitoba sand dunes. All make excellent bases for RV camping in St. Laurent. Pro tip: provincial park sites book through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service starting in early April and the prime lakefront spots disappear fast.

When is the best time to visit St. Laurent, MB in an RV?

The sweet spot for an RV trip in St. Laurent is mid-June through early September, when daytime highs are typically 22 to 26 degrees Celsius and Lake Manitoba's shallow water warms up nicely for swimming. July and August are peak beach season with Metis culture events, fishing, and lakeside dining. May and September are quieter and cooler (around 10 to 18 degrees Celsius), great for birdwatching and avoiding crowds. Winters are very cold, often dipping below -20 degrees Celsius, so most RV rentals run May through October. Pro tip: if you want a uniquely Manitoban winter experience, time your visit for the Manipogo Festival in March and confirm the host offers a winterized RV.

I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in St. Laurent beginner-friendly?

You're going to do great. First time renting an RV? St. Laurent is actually one of the easiest places in Manitoba to start: Highway 6 from Winnipeg is wide, flat, and lightly trafficked, and the back roads around Lake Manitoba are gentle prairie driving with very few hills or tight turns. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, showing you everything from how to dump tanks to running the propane fridge, and you can message them anytime during your trip. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first rental, request delivery to Lake Manitoba Resort, and let the host set everything up so you can focus on the campfire.

What happens if I break down or have trouble during my trip?

You're never alone on the road. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing anywhere in Manitoba. If something feels off, you can also message the host directly through the RVezy app. Many St. Laurent owners know the area well and can recommend a trusted mechanic in Stonewall or Winnipeg. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: cell coverage is solid along Highway 6 and around Lake Manitoba but can be patchy on remote Interlake side roads, so download offline maps before you leave.

Can I take my St. Laurent RV rental across the US border or to other provinces?

Cross-provincial road trips are absolutely on the table. From St. Laurent you can drive an RV freely into Saskatchewan, Ontario, or north to The Pas with no special paperwork required for Canadians. US border crossings into North Dakota or Minnesota are allowed on most RVezy rentals, but you must confirm with the host before booking since some hosts restrict cross-border travel. Travel to Mexico is not permitted because the insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: pack your passport, proof of insurance, and the RV's registration if you're heading south, and cross at the 24-hour Emerson port of entry.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What should I budget for fuel on a St. Laurent RV trip?

Fuel is one of the more predictable costs of your trip. Manitoba gas prices typically run around $1.40 to $1.65 per litre, with the Winnipeg area on the lower end and rural Interlake stations slightly higher. Most Class C motorhomes get 18 to 25 litres per 100 km, while smaller campervans and towed travel trailers are noticeably more efficient. A typical 4-day, 500 km loop from St. Laurent to Hecla Island and back usually costs $150 to $225 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Stonewall or Winnipeg before heading north on Highway 6 where stations are fewer and prices climb.

How far in advance should I book a campground near St. Laurent?

Earlier is better, but you have options. Manitoba Parks opens its summer reservation system in early April with a phased rollout (Birds Hill and Grand Beach first, then other parks over the following days), and prime summer weekends at popular spots like St. Ambroise Beach Provincial Park can sell out within hours. Private campgrounds around St. Laurent like Sunshine Resort and Lake Manitoba Resort can often be booked 2 to 6 weeks ahead for weekday stays. Reserve through manitobaparks.reserve.goingtocamp.com or call 1-888-482-2267. Pro tip: if you miss the opening rush, cancellations free up sites all season long, especially mid-week.
manitobaparks.reserve.goingtocamp.com/

What are driving conditions like around St. Laurent, MB?

Driving here is refreshingly easy compared to mountain or city driving. The roads around St. Laurent are flat, straight prairie highways (Highway 6 north-south, Highway 415 into town) with wide shoulders and minimal traffic outside long weekends. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, the occasional cattle crossing on rural lanes, and strong crosswinds on the open prairie, which can affect taller motorhomes. In spring, watch for pothole season after the thaw, and in summer, sudden thunderstorms can roll across Lake Manitoba quickly. Pro tip: if winds exceed 60 km/h (Environment Canada will issue alerts), pull over for a coffee in Lundar or St. Laurent and wait it out, the storms usually pass within an hour.
gov.mb.ca/mit/road/index.html

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near St. Laurent?

You'll find a mix of full-service and rustic options, all within 30 minutes of town. Lake Manitoba Resort and Sunshine Resort offer 30 and 50 amp electric, water and sewer hookups, hot showers, and dump stations. Provincial parks like St. Ambroise Beach offer electric sites, potable water fills, dump stations, flush toilets, and sandy swim beaches. More rustic spots provide picnic tables, fire pits, and pit toilets, ideal for a quieter Lake Manitoba experience. Most campgrounds have a central potable water fill and dump station even if your site isn't fully serviced. Pro tip: top up fresh water and dump your tanks before leaving the campground, since the next service stop heading north on Highway 6 can be 80 km or more away.
gov.mb.ca/nrnd/parks/index.html

What's inside the RV rentals near St. Laurent, MB?

Expect a fully equipped home on wheels. Most RVs available for rent in St. Laurent come with a queen or king bed, bunk or convertible dinette sleeping for 4 to 8 people, a propane or three-way fridge, stovetop, microwave, full bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning, propane furnace, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, and an awning for those long Manitoba sunsets that don't quit until 10 p.m. in July. Generators and solar are common on larger Class C and Class A motorhomes. Pro tip: Wi-Fi isn't standard, so bring a mobile hotspot or grab a prepaid data plan, cell signal is reliable across most of the Interlake region.
travelmanitoba.com/stay/campgrounds-rv-parks/

What add-ons and pickup options are available for my St. Laurent RV rental?

Hosts make it easy to customize your trip. Common add-ons for an RV rental in Manitoba include camp chairs and tables, BBQ grills, generators, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, fishing gear, bike racks, and pet packages, typically $10 to $50 each. Many St. Laurent hosts offer free or low-cost pickup if you're driving in from Winnipeg, plus paid delivery to Lake Manitoba Resort, Sunshine Resort, or your own cottage driveway. Mileage policies vary by host (often 100 to 200 km per day included) and unlimited-kilometre listings are available too. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen package on your first rental, you'll arrive to a fully made-up RV and start your vacation immediately.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payments are simple and secure, handled entirely through the RVezy platform with no cash or e-transfers to the host. You'll pay for your booking by credit card according to the payment schedule shown at checkout, and the host receives funds after your trip starts. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card shortly before pickup and released after drop-off, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. Pro tip: take dated photos and a short video of the RV's interior, exterior, and odometer at both pickup and drop-off. It's the easiest way to avoid disputes and get your full deposit back quickly.

Can I rent an RV in St. Laurent during winter for ice fishing?

Yes, and it's a memorable experience. St. Laurent bills itself as the ice fishing capital of Manitoba, with Lake Manitoba typically frozen solid from late December through March. A handful of RVezy hosts offer winter-ready motorhome rentals with heated holding tanks, added insulation, and shore-power hookups. The Manipogo Festival each March celebrates the end of the ice fishing season with a derby, parade, and Metis cuisine. Daytime temperatures often sit between -10 and -25 degrees Celsius, so layered clothing and a propane top-up are essential. Pro tip: filter for winterized RVs on RVezy, confirm the host's cold-weather protocol, and ask about plugging into 30 amp shore power for steady overnight heat.
