We really enjoyed our 3 nights in Caroline's R.V.! She was really easy to work with and we were able to go wherever we wanted without worrying about mileage. The RV was clean and had everything it needed. There wasn't any hot water but it was very good on gas! I would rent this again!

Dan was a great host- fast to respond even when on the road. This RV is a 450 engine so amazing power and never a problem. It’s an older unit with manual lights. We had to pay a taxi for a boost when we left them on all night- Dan had forewarned us on this . 😔. The living part is comfortable but def well used. No screen door , bathroom mirror, generator or awning… the beds , and appliances were good. The dinette and fridge area slide out for more room . Would have brought our toaster as there isn’t one and the supplied bowls, plates and drinking cups were plastic so we hit a Thrift store for wine glasses , plates etc. we brought an electric grill which was fabulous for our steaks. There were three of us wanting our own beds so the single overhead beds worked great. We never used the shower but did use the oven, broiler, burners and microwave. Dad loved the arm chair just inside the door so he could comfortably watch the road with my sister and I. Would def rent again as it’s a quiet dependable unit… just bring your own tarp .

Majid was very helpful with pick up and drop off. The camper has some minor issues like mildew and small holes in the sleeping areas. Also cannot power the camper with a generator as the adaptor was not working properly. Campsite plug in works fine but we were only on service sites for 2 out of 8 days. Good size camper to pull with a full size truck.

What if I need to cancel my Twillingate RV trip?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy platform-wide (it isn't host-defined), and every booking includes a short grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund. Beyond that window, refund amounts depend on how far out from your trip start date you cancel. RVezy also reviews extraordinary circumstances, which matters in Newfoundland where the occasional summer storm or hurricane remnant can roll through. Because the policy is uniform, you won't see a separate cancellation policy on each listing. Pro tip: book your RV rental in Twillingate early to lock in iceberg-season availability, then relax knowing flexibility is built in.

Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Twillingate is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching and you'll see listings where dogs (and sometimes cats) are welcome, often with a small cleaning fee. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet details, and pack a long lead since the coastal cliffs near Crow Head can have steep drops.

When is the best time to visit Twillingate in an RV?

The sweet spot for a Twillingate RV trip is late May through early September, with each window offering something special. Late May to mid-June is peak iceberg season, when 12,000-year-old giants from Greenland drift past Long Point Lighthouse, with daytime highs of 8 to 15 C. July and August bring the warmest weather (highs of 18 to 22 C), peak humpback whale activity, and the famous Fish, Fun and Folk Festival in late July. September offers crisp air, fewer crowds, and golden coastal hikes. Pro tip: if icebergs are your priority, check the live Iceberg Finder map before locking in dates, conditions vary year to year.

I'm a first-time RV renter. Is Twillingate a good place to start?

Yes, Twillingate is surprisingly welcoming for first-time renters. Your RVezy host will do a full walkthrough at pickup or delivery, showing you how to operate the propane, water, slide-outs, awning, and dump valves, and they're a text away during your trip. Route 340 from the Trans-Canada Highway to Twillingate is paved, well-signed, and far less stressful than driving through a major city. Traffic is light, locals are patient, and most campgrounds have pull-through sites. Pro tip: book a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first time, and choose a host who offers delivery to Peyton's Woods so you can skip the unfamiliar drive entirely.

What happens if I have RV trouble during my Twillingate trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance through the renter protection plan, covering common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing. Your host is also reachable directly through the RVezy app for questions about quirks specific to their RV. If something more serious happens, RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Cell coverage on Route 340 and around Twillingate is generally solid (Bell and Rogers networks), though it can dip in pockets near Crow Head. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup and save the roadside number to your phone before you leave Gander.

The classic loop heads west to Gros Morne National Park (430 km, about 5 hours) for fjords and the Tablelands UNESCO site. Heading south, Terra Nova National Park (250 km) offers protected bays and easy hiking. East to St. John's (440 km) gets you Signal Hill, Cape Spear, and George Street. Many travellers also island-hop on the Fogo Island ferry from Farewell, just 50 km away. Pro tip: international travel from your Twillingate RV rental is limited, RVezy rentals can't enter Mexico, and US travel requires written host approval and additional insurance arrangements before you book.

What about fuel costs and MPG on a Newfoundland RV trip?

Budgeting fuel for your motorhome rental in Twillingate is straightforward. Expect a Class C to deliver about 16 to 22 litres per 100 km (11 to 15 MPG), a campervan rental Twillingate around 12 to 15 L/100km, and a tow vehicle with travel trailer roughly 18 to 25 L/100km. Newfoundland gas prices are regulated weekly by the Public Utilities Board and typically run 10 to 20 cents per litre higher than mainland Canada. Plan on roughly CA$180 to CA$280 in fuel for a 1,000 km loop. Pro tip: fill up in Lewisporte or Gander before heading to Twillingate, the last stretch on Route 340 has fewer stations and slightly higher prices.

How far in advance should I book a campground in Twillingate?

For peak iceberg and whale season (June through August), book your Twillingate campground 2 to 4 months ahead. Newfoundland and Labrador's provincial parks like Dildo Run and Notre Dame open reservations each year through the official NL Parks reservation system (parksnlcamping.ca), and the popular waterfront sites fill quickly once the booking window opens in the spring. Private parks like Peyton's Woods RV Park take reservations directly by phone or email. Pro tip: if you're flexible, weeknight stays in early June or after Labour Day are easier to grab and you'll often have an iceberg view nearly to yourself. Always book your RVezy rental first, then your sites.

What are driving conditions like around Twillingate?

Driving to Twillingate is scenic and very manageable. Route 340 from the Trans-Canada Highway is fully paved, two-lane, and crosses a series of causeways through New World Island, hence the nickname Road to the Isles. Speed limits are 80 to 90 km/h, traffic is light, and there are no mountain passes or steep grades. Watch for moose (especially at dawn and dusk), fog along the coast, and the occasional pothole after winter. Winter driving from December through April brings snow, ice, and reduced ferry/road services, so most RV trips happen May through October. Pro tip: check road conditions on the NL 511 website the morning of departure, especially in shoulder season.

Notre Dame Provincial Park in Lewisporte also has a dump station and freshwater fill, handy on your way in or out. For free camping at Sleepy Cove near Crow Head, you'll need to be fully self-contained, no services. Pro tip: top up fresh water and dump tanks at Notre Dame or Dildo Run before heading deeper into the Twillingate Islands.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment for your RV rental in Twillingate is handled securely through RVezy, so no cash changes hands with the host. You'll pay the booking total (rental cost, protection plan, service fees, and any add-ons) by credit card when you book. The refundable security deposit is separate from the booking payment and is placed as a hold on your card shortly before your trip starts, typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV and protection tier you chose. As long as you return the RV on time, in the same condition, with the agreed fuel and tank levels, the hold is released after your trip. Pro tip: do a thorough walkaround video at pickup and dropoff, it protects everyone and keeps your deposit return smooth.
