If you plan to take your Toronto RV rental into the city, you might want to consider if this bustling metro area is RV friendly. Traffic in Toronto can be hectic, and Highway 401 ranks as one of the busiest roads in the world. Technically, you can park an RV on the street in Toronto; however, all street parking is limited to three hours. Probably the best way to get around Toronto is to park your RV at a Walmart and use the city’s subway or streetcar system to get around.
Campers who crave aerial views and aren’t afraid of heights will want to head to the top of the CN Tower. Standing at over 1,800 feet (550 metres) high, the CN Tower is the tallest free-standing building in the Western Hemisphere. Take in dizzying panoramas from the 1,136 foot (346 metre) high observation deck, the LookOut Level, and test your courage on the Glass Floor. The bravest members of your crew might want to check out the EdgeWalk. Afterward, head to the 360 Restaurant and enjoy a bite to eat high above clouds.
One Toronto attraction the kids (and big kids) in your crew are sure to love is Canada’s Wonderland. The largest theme park in the country, Canada’s Wonderland boasts 70 rides, including 17 roller coasters. There’s also a water park called Splash Works if you want to cool off on a hot day. Once you’ve had your fill of the rides, sit back and enjoy one of the park’s live shows, or chow down at one of the dozens of restaurants.
Don’t feel you’ve experienced Lake Ontario during your Toronto trailer rental? Then pay a visit to Scarborough Bluffs. These stark cliffs run for nine miles (15 kilometres) along Lake Ontario, reaching a max height of over 295 feet (90 metres). Take a hike along the cliff-top trail and, along the way, visit some of the area’s nine parks. Arguably the best park is Bluffer’s Park and Beach as it features a large beach where you can relax surrounded by sublime cliffs.
