My family had a wonderful experience renting this trailer. The communication from the beginning was incredible. Any questions I had were answered quickly and it felt like I had a partner in this process, which helped as this was my first experience renting a trailer on RVezy. Sheila was a dream at pickup. She helped me get everything set up, and gave a great walkthrough of all of the features and logistics of the trailer. Very thorough and appreciated. I drove away feeling confident on my adventure. My two little ones loved the bunkbeds and the bigger bed was great for me. The trailer was perfect for our little beach campground adventure. Sheila also packed some fun activities for my little ones to play with including wooden airplane gliders, glow sticks, and bubbles. The little gesture was so nice and thoughtful. Overall 100/10 would rent again. Sheila you're a dream and it was so fun to get to take your beautiful trailer out on the open road for a fun weekend.

Torrey was very helpful, friendly and super easy to work with. Her trailer was a great choice for my family’s glamping trip and she has everything you need in there. As a first time trailer renter pay for the add ons you will need because it makes it that much easier/convenient.

When we arrived to pick up trailer it was all setup for our walk through and inspection. David walked us through all the features and proper use and setup for trailer.. Communication was easy and Kari was great at answering any questions. All the little things you might need or forget to pack were already stocked. We had a wonderful Annivesary vacation experience at the Oregon coast. Kari's trailer gave a new and fun way for my wife and I and our dog to enjoy a vacation together. Thank you so much for the experience and the use of your trailer. Definitely a 5 star host and as my wife called it a very fun "Glamping trip" everything we needed and our own mobile hotel room. Thank you Kari & David.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Rockaway Beach, OR

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Rockaway Beach, OR?

An RV rental in Rockaway Beach is one of the more affordable ways to experience the Oregon Coast. On RVezy, travel trailers typically run $90 to $175 per night, camper vans range from $135 to $225, and larger Class C motorhomes average $175 to $300 per night. Summer (July and August) is peak pricing because the beach town fills up fast, so booking in May, June, or September can save you 20 to 30 percent. For the cheapest RV rental in Rockaway Beach, look for travel trailers with delivery included and filter for hosts offering weekly discounts. Pro tip: weekday Sunday through Thursday stays often unlock lower nightly rates on the same RV.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Rockaway Beach, Oregon?

Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Rockaway Beach, OR. Oregon does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for the motorhomes, camper vans, and travel trailers listed on RVezy. You'll just need to meet RVezy's approved driver requirements (generally 25 or older) and verify your ID through the platform during booking, which takes just a few minutes. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most renters on Highway 101 are surprised how straightforward the process is, even if it's their first time behind the wheel of a motorhome.

Is RV insurance and roadside assistance included with my Rockaway Beach rental?

Yes, every RVezy booking includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 101 with confidence. The protection plan covers damages to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout, not the host. It provides meaningful financial protection if something unexpected happens, from a cracked windshield on a windy coastal drive to a flat tire on the way to Cape Meares. Roadside help is just a phone call away, day or night, anywhere in Oregon. Pro tip: choose a higher protection tier if you're new to RVing on the coast, where salt air and gusty winds can be unpredictable.

What if I need to cancel my Rockaway Beach RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear, consistent cancellation policy on every reservation, including a full money-back grace period right after you book. Cancellation outcomes depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. Because RVezy, not the host, handles cancellation policies, you get the same process no matter which RV you choose. If a coastal storm or wildfire smoke event affects your dates, contact RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options. If the host cancels your booking, RVezy provides a full refund or travel credit. Pro tip: book early for July and August when Rockaway Beach fills up, knowing the grace period gives you breathing room to confirm plans.

Can I bring my dog on a Rockaway Beach RV trip?

Absolutely, and Rockaway Beach is one of the most dog-friendly stretches of the Oregon Coast. Many hosts on RVezy offer pet-friendly RV rentals in Rockaway Beach; just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search. The seven miles of sandy beach here allow leashed dogs year-round, and nearby Nehalem Bay State Park welcomes leashed pets on trails and the beach. Barview Jetty County Park, just north of town, is also dog-welcoming and great for sunset walks. Some hosts charge a small pet fee (typically $25 to $75 per trip) to cover extra cleaning. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet rules, and pack a towel; wet, sandy paws are guaranteed after a beach run.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Rockaway Beach?

Yes, RV delivery in Rockaway Beach is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. Many RVezy hosts based in Tillamook County will deliver to local campgrounds like Barview Jetty County Park, Nehalem Bay State Park, or Cape Lookout State Park, set up the RV, level it, connect water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees usually range from $2 to $4 per mile from the host's location, with some hosts offering free delivery within a set radius. Just filter for Delivery on RVezy. Pro tip: delivery is a game-changer if you're flying into Portland International Airport and don't want to tow a trailer over the Coast Range.

How far can I drive on an RV road trip from Rockaway Beach?

Rockaway Beach is a perfect basecamp for exploring the Oregon Coast and beyond. Popular routes from Rockaway Beach include Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock (about 25 miles north, 40 minutes), Tillamook Creamery (17 miles south, 25 minutes), Cape Lookout State Park (35 miles south, about an hour), Astoria and the Columbia River (about 55 miles north, just over an hour), and Portland (about 85 miles east, around 2 hours via Highway 6). Many hosts offer RV rentals with generous mileage allowances, and some include unlimited mileage. Check each listing for the daily mileage cap and per-mile overage rate. Pro tip: the scenic loop south to Pacific City and back makes a stunning day trip without burning through your mileage allowance.

What are the best campgrounds near Rockaway Beach, OR?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Rockaway Beach include Barview Jetty County Park (just north of town with full-hookup sites and ocean views), Nehalem Bay State Park (about eight miles north with electric sites and direct beach access through the dunes), Cape Lookout State Park (south near Tillamook with full and partial hookups and old-growth forest), and Kelly's Brighton Marina (a quirky bayfront spot with crabbing rentals). For RV camping in Rockaway Beach itself, Rockaway Beach RV Park sits walking distance from the sand. Pro tip: Oregon State Parks open reservations six months in advance, and summer weekends at Nehalem Bay book out the moment that window opens.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=131

When is the best time of year for an RV trip to Rockaway Beach?

Rockaway Beach is a year-round destination, but the sweet spot is July through September when daytime highs typically reach the mid-60s to low 70s and rainfall drops significantly. Late spring (May and June) brings wildflowers, fewer crowds, and highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Fall (October) is magic for storm-watching from a cozy RV with the heater running. Winter is wet and windy, with highs in the mid-40s and famous Pacific storms drawing photographers from across the country. Pro tip: shoulder seasons mean lower nightly rates and easier campground reservations, and you'll still get plenty of dry days between systems.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay on the Oregon Coast?

You've got this, and you're not alone. Most renters booking a motorhome rental in Rockaway Beach are first-timers. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, hookups, the propane system, and the gray and black tanks. Highway 101 along the north Oregon Coast is well-maintained, with wide lanes and frequent pullouts for slower-moving vehicles. The drive from Portland over Highway 26 or Highway 6 has some curves through the Coast Range, but nothing intimidating in a Class C or camper van. Pro tip: if you're nervous about the mountain crossing, book a host who offers delivery directly to your Rockaway Beach campground; you skip the driving entirely and just enjoy the trip.
tripcheck.com/

What happens if my RV breaks down during my Rockaway Beach trip?

You're covered. Every RVezy rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're parked at Barview Jetty or driving the Three Capes Scenic Loop. Roadside covers flat tires, lockouts, battery jumps, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified repair shop. Your host is also typically just a text away for quick troubleshooting questions, like resetting the GFCI outlet or relighting the water heater. Cell service is generally good in Rockaway Beach and along Highway 101, though it can drop briefly in the Coast Range. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's number to your phone before you leave the pickup location.

Can I take my Rockaway Beach RV rental into Washington or California?

Often yes, and it makes for an epic Pacific Coast road trip from Rockaway Beach. Many RVezy hosts allow interstate travel within the U.S., including up Highway 101 into Washington (Long Beach Peninsula is only about 90 miles north) or south through Lincoln City and on to the redwoods of northern California. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and protection plan, so message them before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because the protection coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: a one-way trip is sometimes possible too; just ask the host directly through the listing whether they'll accept a drop-off elsewhere.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

How much should I budget for fuel on a Rockaway Beach RV trip?

Easier than you'd think to estimate. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, camper vans get 16 to 22 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Gas prices in Tillamook County typically run slightly higher than the Portland metro, so filling up in Beaverton or Hillsboro on Highway 26 before heading west can save you a bit per gallon. A typical four-night Rockaway Beach RV trip with day excursions to Cannon Beach, Tillamook Creamery, and Cape Meares burns roughly 30 to 50 gallons total. Pro tip: Oregon recently expanded self-service fueling statewide, but many coastal stations still offer attendant service, so be ready for either at the pump.
oregon.gov/odot/Data/Pages/Fuels-Tax.aspx

How far ahead should I book a campground near Rockaway Beach?

For summer weekends, book the moment reservations open. Oregon State Parks (including Nehalem Bay and Cape Lookout) release reservations six months in advance, and prime July and August dates can sell out within minutes. Tillamook County parks like Barview Jetty also open six months out and fill quickly. For weekday stays or shoulder-season visits in May, June, September, or October, a few weeks of lead time is usually plenty. Private parks like Rockaway Beach RV Park often have more flexibility. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for exactly six months before your target check-in date, log in five minutes before the reservation window opens, and have your site preferences ready.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=v.page&id=82

What are driving conditions like around Rockaway Beach?

Generally relaxed and very RV-friendly. Highway 101 through Rockaway Beach is a two-lane coastal highway with a reduced speed limit through town and faster open stretches between communities, with plenty of pullouts. The biggest variables are weather and wind: winter storms can bring gusty crosswinds along exposed beach sections and occasional fog, while summer is typically dry and mild. The Coast Range drive on Highway 6 or Highway 26 from Portland has steady grades and a few tight curves but no white-knuckle sections in a standard motorhome. Watch for elk near Tillamook at dawn and dusk. Pro tip: check TripCheck (Oregon DOT's live road conditions site) before you drive over the range, especially November through March.

What amenities can I expect at Rockaway Beach campgrounds?

Most campgrounds near Rockaway Beach are well-equipped for a comfortable RV stay. Nehalem Bay State Park offers electric hookups, hot showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. Barview Jetty County Park has full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electric. Cape Lookout State Park provides full-hookup and partial-hookup loops. For dumping and water fills on the go, you'll find dump stations at most state parks and at Rockaway Beach RV Park. Wi-Fi varies; expect spotty coverage at state parks and decent connection at private parks. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot freshwater hose and a 30-to-50-amp adapter so you're ready for any site configuration along the coast.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=137

What's typically included inside an RV rental in Rockaway Beach?

More than you might expect. A typical RV rental in Rockaway Beach, OR comes fully equipped with a queen or king bed, a functional kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink, cookware, and dishes), an enclosed bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control (furnace and often AC), and seatbelted seating for travel. Most listings include a TV and many offer onboard Wi-Fi or a hotspot, though coastal cell signal varies. Generators are common in Class C motorhomes, which is great for boondocking at remote pullouts and dispersed sites. Pro tip: check the listing's amenities list and message the host if you need specifics like a coffee maker, high chair, or beach chairs; many hosts include these for free.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Rockaway%20Beach%2C%20Oregon

What add-ons and mileage policies should I know about?

Hosts in Rockaway Beach offer a range of helpful add-ons that make your trip easier. Common options include bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits, generator usage ($3 to $5 per hour), propane top-ups, bike racks, and beach gear like chairs and umbrellas. Mileage policies vary: some listings include 100 to 150 miles per day free, others offer unlimited mileage, and overage fees typically run 25 to 45 cents per mile. Pickup and drop-off are usually at the host's location, though delivery to your campground is widely available. Pro tip: if you plan day trips to Astoria, Cannon Beach, and Tillamook, choose an RV rental with unlimited mileage or generous daily limits so you're not watching the odometer.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Rockaway%20Beach%2C%20Oregon

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. You pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host. A security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is placed as a hold on your card before pickup and released after your trip once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape with no damage and tanks handled per the listing's policy. The security deposit is separate from your booking payment. Choosing a higher protection tier during checkout can reduce your out-of-pocket exposure if something happens. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos and a quick walkaround video at pickup and drop-off; it's the easiest way to avoid any deposit disputes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How should I prepare for cool, wet weather on a Rockaway Beach RV trip?

A little prep makes shoulder-season and winter trips genuinely fun. Rockaway Beach sits in a temperate coastal climate, so even summer mornings can be foggy and in the mid-50s before warming up. Pack layers, waterproof shoes, and a rain shell, and confirm with your host that the RV's furnace, propane, and any heated tank features are working at pickup. Most RVs on RVezy have shore-power hookups for 30 or 50-amp service, so booking a campground with full hookups like Barview Jetty keeps you warm and dry no matter the forecast. Pro tip: winter storm-watching from the dinette with hot cocoa while waves crash at Twin Rocks just offshore is one of the most underrated Oregon Coast experiences.
