You’re not going to get a better host than Bill or a nicer RV for that price point than this one! As a new RV user, we had a TON of questions before and during our trip. Bill could not have been easier to deal with and his communication was excellent throughout our rental. Bill made our trip trouble-free and AMAZING - Five stars all around for sure!

Jessica communicated well but the RV had more wear than what was shown in the pictures. The seats and trim were old and had wear. The generator would not start so we were not able to use it while traveling. The door between bedroom and kitchen was a constant struggle to open and close. For the price the camper was good. It drove well and had no mechanical issues.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Savannah?

You need a full, unrestricted driver's license and you must complete RVezy's approved-driver steps (guests are typically 25 or older). Georgia does not require a separate RV class license for the kinds of rigs you usually book on RVezy. International guests can use a valid license from an accepted country and provide an International Driving Permit when requested. Finish driver approval in your RVezy account before the trip, then focus on exploring Savannah.

Is protection included when I rent an RV in Savannah?

Every RVezy booking in the U.S. includes third-party liability that meets state minimums, with your personal auto coverage often applying first. For physical damage limits and extras such as roadside assistance, you select and pay for a renter protection plan at checkout: Basic, Standard, Premium, or a stationary option if you choose delivery and do not move the rig. Your host does not set the plan, so you pick the level that fits your Savannah trip.

Can I cancel my Savannah RV rental if my plans change?

Yes. RVezy applies one platform cancellation schedule to every booking: cancel more than 30 days before check-in for the most favorable rental refund (service fee rules still apply), between 30 and 8 days for a 50% rental refund path, or 7 days or less where the policy follows the stricter tier. You can also receive a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of the host accepting your booking and your payment, as long as you are still more than 24 hours before trip start. Protection plan, delivery, prep, and add-on charges refund according to the help center rules. If the host cancels, you receive a full refund including fees and taxes. Manage everything in your RVezy account.

Can I bring my dog on my RV rental in Savannah?

Yes. Finding a pet-friendly RV rental in Savannah is simple: use RVezy filters to see listings that welcome dogs. Skidaway Island State Park allows leashed pets in the campground, and many guests also pair RV stays with private resorts such as Red Gate Farms RV Resort or Creekfire RV Resort (always confirm each property's pet rules before you book). For city play time, Daffin Park has a fenced off-leash dog area. Message the host about breed or fee policies so your whole crew travels smoothly.

Can I get the RV delivered to my Savannah site or home?

RV delivery in Savannah works well: hosts can drop off, set up, and pick up at many campgrounds, event sites, or driveways when rules allow. Confirm the address, check-in windows, and any gate or resort fees with your host before you book. RVezy can apply a stationary protection plan when you do not move the RV after delivery. Use the delivery filter in search, then message the host about timing for Skidaway Island State Park, Red Gate Farms RV Resort, or your chosen spot.

How far can I take my Savannah RV rental, and are there unlimited mileage options?

Most listings include a mileage allowance with optional extra miles. Filter for unlimited mileage on RVezy if you want fewer limits. Planning an RV road trip from Savannah? Your RV rental in Georgia can take you about 2 hours to Charleston, about 1.5 to 2 hours one way toward the Okefenokee area near Folkston, about 3.5 to 4.5 hours to Atlanta depending on traffic, and about 4.5 to 5 hours to Orlando. RVezy coverage applies across the United States and Canada within policy rules; Mexico and listed prohibited areas are excluded, so confirm any long or unusual route with your host first.

Where should I stay with my RV in Savannah? Any tips for finding the best campgrounds?

Skidaway Island State Park is a favorite for RV camping in Savannah, pairing moss-draped oaks with trails and marsh views: campsites include electric and water, some sites offer sewer, and a dump station is available. Important: a partial campground renovation is underway from February 2026 through early 2027, so check gastateparks.org/SkidawayIsland for current site availability before booking. Red Gate Farms RV Resort adds a saltwater pool, farm animals, and trails minutes from downtown. Creekfire RV Resort is known for full hookups and extensive water recreation southwest of the city. Book Skidaway through Georgia State Parks reservations, and book private resorts on their own sites. Reserve several weeks ahead for spring festivals and peak flower season.

What is the best time of year for an RV trip to Savannah and the Georgia coast?

Spring (March through May) and fall (late September through early November) bring warm days often in the 70s and 80s F, ideal for squares and coastal day trips. Summer runs hot and humid with highs commonly in the upper 80s to 90s F, so plan morning outings and hydration. Winter stays mild compared with much of the country, with many afternoons in the 60s. Watch hurricane season June through November and check forecasts before you travel.

Is it easy for first-time renters to drive and use an RV in Savannah?

Yes. Your RVezy host walks you through systems at pickup or delivery, including hookups and safe driving tips, even if you have never camped before. Whether you are planning a solo weekend or a family RV trip in Savannah, the setup is straightforward. Savannah and the surrounding highways are mostly flat, though low branches and tight squares downtown mean many guests prefer parking the RV outside the core and riding in. If you want to skip driving entirely, pick delivery and a stationary plan. Message the host early with questions so day one feels simple.

What if I have a roadside emergency during my Savannah RV trip?

RVezy protection plans include access to 24/7 roadside assistance: call the support line any time for things like lockouts, chassis battery help, or towing coordination, with exact benefits depending on your plan level. Keep your booking details handy whether you are on Tybee Island or inland. Choosing your protection level at checkout is what activates the roadside bundle for your Savannah dates.

Can I take my Savannah RV rental to Florida or South Carolina?

Yes, trips within the United States such as South Carolina and Florida are normally within RVezy coverage areas as long as you follow the rental agreement and avoid prohibited regions. Mexico is not covered. Popular loops include Savannah to Charleston in about two hours, or Georgia's Golden Isles a short drive down I-95. Tell your host your full route before you book so mileage and insurance stay aligned.

How much will I spend on gas for a Savannah RV rental?

Expect roughly 8 to 13 miles per gallon for many motorhomes and tow vehicles depending on size and speed. Fuel prices move weekly, so use a local price app before you lock in a budget. Tybee Island and nearby coast runs are short hops; longer runs like the Okefenokee area can add a couple hundred miles round trip. Add a small buffer for hills, generator use, or idling, then enjoy the drive.

How do I reserve campgrounds near Savannah, and when should I book?

Book Skidaway Island State Park and other Georgia State Parks through the official Georgia State Parks reservation site. Private resorts such as Red Gate Farms RV Resort and Creekfire RV Resort use their own online booking. For spring breaks, holidays, and festivals, reserve four to six weeks ahead when you can; mid-week winter stays usually offer more last-minute space.

Is it easy to drive and park an RV in downtown Savannah?

Downtown streets feature oaks with low branches, limited oversized parking, and tight corners, so most RV guests stay at an outer campground and use rideshare, biking, or walking for the Historic District. Delivery to a suburban campground is a strong option: enjoy squares and River Street without threading a large rig through narrow blocks. Your host can suggest realistic staging areas if you ask before booking.

What amenities are available at Savannah-area campgrounds?

Skidaway Island State Park offers electric and water at campsites, sewer on select sites, hiking trails, Wi-Fi near the office, and a dump station (note: partial renovation underway through early 2027, check availability before booking). Red Gate Farms RV Resort highlights a saltwater pool, trails, farm animals, and full-service RV sites. Creekfire RV Resort advertises full hookups plus a pool, lazy river, and on-site dining. Always read each park site map before booking so you match power and sewer to your rig.

What equipment and features can I expect in a Savannah RV rental?

Typical Class A, B, or C units, campervans, and travel trailers include sleeping areas, climate control, kitchen gear, bathroom facilities on most motorhomes and many trailers, and storage. If a compact campervan rental in Savannah appeals to you, Class B vans make navigating to outer campgrounds easy. Listing photos spell out exactly what is included, from linens to generators. Your RVezy host reviews operations at pickup or delivery. If you need bikes, extra tanks, or Wi-Fi, ask in messaging before you confirm.
rvezy.com/how-it-works

What add-ons and options are available with Savannah motorhome rentals?

Each listing shows optional add-ons such as camp chairs, kitchen kits, generators, delivery, and mileage packages. Use RVezy messaging to ask about beach gear, bike racks, or adjusted pickup windows before you pay. Owners set delivery distance and fees, so confirm totals in writing on the platform. That keeps upgrades clear for festivals, beach weeks, or long Lowcountry loops.
rvezy.com/how-it-works

How does payment work and what should I know about the security deposit?

RVezy lets you pay in full or, for trips booked more than 37 days out, split into a deposit and a balance due 37 days before departure (see your booking summary for exact dates). The security deposit is a card authorization, usually placed three days before the trip start, not a direct charge to the host. It releases about seven days after return unless a claim needs review. Listing pages show deposit amounts up front.
