This RV was awesome! Joseph and Bekah delivered it and set it up. They even made the bed, provided linens/towels, pots and pans, dishes, a coffee pot…. We are cooks and their knives are better than ours! We will rent this RV again!

We had an incredible experience renting an RV for the F1 weekend in Austin. Communication was flawless from start to finish - they were friendly, responsive, and genuinely great to work with. They handled the entire setup and pickup, making the process completely seamless and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend renting from them and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, you're in great hands!

WOW!! The trailer was beautiful, very well kept and very clean! I was concerned about *renting* a trailer, my concerns were unfounded! Great experience! Can’t say ENOUGH nice things about Genna and Steve! Well informed owners who shared extra tips and tricks with us to make our trip even more enjoyable! We had a great trailer experience, but also came away with two new friends!! Definitely recommend these owners and this trailer or any future trailer they may advertise. Customer service was very important to them and it really showed! Pic is of the hubs and pup (in the blankets) relaxing after cooking our Thanksgiving ham! FYI - the trailer was plenty spacious for us two and the pupper & the hubby is 6’4” !!

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Burnet, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Burnet, TX?

Burnet is one of the most affordable launchpads for a Texas Hill Country adventure, with prices that often beat Austin and San Antonio. An RV rental in Burnet typically runs $90 to $175 per night for travel trailers, $150 to $250 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 to $400 for larger Class A coaches, with hosts setting their own nightly rates plus an RVezy service fee and a refundable security deposit. For a cheap RV rental Burnet weekend, book midweek and target January or February when demand drops across the Highland Lakes. Pro tip: filter by Delivery to skip tow vehicle costs and have the rig waiting at your campsite when you arrive.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Burnet, Texas?

Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Burnet. Texas does not require a special license or commercial driver's license (CDL) for personal-use motorhomes or travel trailers, even the big Class A coaches you'll see rolling toward Lake Buchanan. You'll just need to be at least 25 years old with a valid license, and RVezy verifies approved drivers through the platform before your trip. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home-country license. Most first-time renters in the Hill Country are surprised how simple the paperwork is, leaving more time for Longhorn Cavern and Devil's Waterhole.

Is my RV rental protected if something goes wrong on the trip?

You're covered from the moment you hit Highway 281 north out of Burnet. Every RVezy booking includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on Park Road 4 or a windshield chip on RR 2341 doesn't derail your trip. During checkout you'll choose from different protection plan tiers, letting you pick the level of coverage that matches your comfort, your budget, and the size of the rig. Protection plans cover accidental damage to the RV and give you real financial peace of mind. With that safety net in place, you can focus on what matters: granite cliffs, bluebonnets, and lakeside sunsets.

What is the cancellation policy if my Burnet RV trip changes?

Plans shift, and RVezy is built to be forgiving. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy for every booking, with a money-back grace period right after you reserve so you can lock in your Burnet RV rental with confidence. Refund amounts after the grace period depend on how far out your trip is and the specifics of your booking. The full details live in the RVezy Help Center and apply consistently across every listing. If your host needs to cancel, RVezy will refund you or provide travel credit so your trip plans stay on track. Pro tip: book early to secure prime spring wildflower dates, knowing you have a window to adjust if life happens.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Burnet?

Absolutely, and Burnet is a tail-wagger's paradise. Many hosts on RVezy offer pet-friendly RV rentals in Burnet, so just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search. Inks Lake State Park welcomes leashed dogs (6-foot leash maximum) on trails and at most campsites, though they are not allowed inside cabins. Canyon of the Eagles is also dog-friendly, and the shoreline of Lake Buchanan has shallow coves perfect for a swim. Pro tip: pack a paw-cooling mat for summer afternoons when the pink granite trails at Inks Lake heat up fast.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Burnet?

Yes, and it's the easiest way to start your Hill Country trip. Many Burnet hosts offer RV delivery to Inks Lake State Park, Canyon of the Eagles, and private properties around Lake Buchanan and Lake LBJ. The host tows or drives the RV in, levels it, hooks up water and power, and walks you through every system before handing you the keys. This is a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV or if you'd rather skip towing on the curvy stretches of RR 2341. Just filter listings by Delivery and message the host with your campsite number to confirm a delivery fee.

From Burnet you can reach Austin in about 55 miles (just over an hour), Fredericksburg in 50 miles, San Antonio in 100 miles, and Waco in roughly 135 miles, all easily within a weekend's mileage allowance. When is the best time of year to plan a Burnet RV trip?

March through May is the sweet spot for RV camping Burnet adventures, when daytime highs run 70 to 83°F, bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush carpet the roadsides, and Inks Lake is perfect for paddling. October and November are equally beautiful with mild 65 to 80°F days and far fewer crowds. Summer (June-August) brings real heat, with July and August highs averaging in the mid-90s°F and heat index sometimes climbing past 105°F, so plan early-morning hikes and lean on the AC. Winter is mild (highs near 60°F in January). Pro tip: book wildflower-season weekends 4-5 months ahead through Texas Parks & Wildlife.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Burnet?

You'll do great, and Burnet is one of the friendlier places in Texas to learn. The roads around town are wide, traffic is light compared to Austin, and Highway 281 has long straightaways perfect for getting comfortable behind the wheel. Every RVezy host gives a full orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, hookups, slide-outs, and the dump procedure before you leave. You can message the host with questions anytime before booking, and 24/7 roadside assistance comes with every trip through the RVezy protection plan. Pro tip: ask your host about delivery to Inks Lake State Park, then you can practice driving on quiet park roads before tackling the highway home.

What happens if I have a breakdown or emergency during my trip?

Every RVezy booking in Burnet includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering tire changes, jump-starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. If something more serious happens (say, the generator quits at Canyon of the Eagles or you lose power on Park Road 4), you can reach RVezy support and your host directly through the app at any hour. Cell coverage is generally solid throughout the Highland Lakes region on major carriers. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup and save your host's number to your favorites so the first 30 seconds of any hiccup are stress-free.

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and what does gas cost around Burnet?

Budgeting for an RV rental Texas trip is easier when you know the real numbers. Most Class C motorhomes you'll rent in Burnet get 8 to 12 MPG on gasoline, Class A coaches average 6 to 10 MPG, campervans (Class B) often hit 16 to 20 MPG, and travel trailer mileage depends on your tow vehicle. Gas in Burnet generally tracks close to the Texas state average, with stations along US 281 and SH 29 offering the easiest big-rig access. For a weekend loop of 200 miles, plan on roughly $60 to $110 in fuel depending on rig and pump price. Pro tip: top off before you head into state parks where fuel options are limited.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Burnet?

Book early and breathe easy. Inks Lake State Park accepts reservations up to 5 months in advance through the Texas Parks & Wildlife reservation system and regularly sells out on weekends, spring wildflower season, and holidays, so target the 5-month mark the moment your dates open. Canyon of the Eagles and Big Chief RV Resort book through their own websites and fill up 2-3 months ahead for peak weekends. Private lakeside parks generally have more last-minute availability. Pro tip: set a calendar alert for exactly 5 months before your check-in date and log in early in the morning Central time, when same-day inventory drops at TPWD.

What are the driving conditions like around Burnet?

Driving an RV around Burnet is genuinely pleasant. US 281 and SH 29 are wide, well-maintained, and never feel cramped even in a 30-foot Class C. Park Road 4 between Inks Lake and Longhorn Cavern is curvier with a few hills, so take it at posted speeds. The biggest local quirks are sudden spring thunderstorms (May is among the wettest months) and the occasional low-water crossing on FM roads, which you should never enter when flooded ('Turn Around, Don't Drown'). Snow and ice are rare, usually melting within a day. Pro tip: avoid the Mansfield Dam stretch heading into Austin on Sunday evenings when lake traffic backs up.

Big Chief RV Resort delivers full hookups, pool, clubhouse, and recreation areas. Most private parks also include Wi-Fi and laundry. Fresh water fills are easy to find at any developed park, and dump stations are available at the major Highland Lakes parks. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose since site layouts vary.

What features and amenities are inside the RV rentals?

You're getting a fully equipped home on wheels. Most motorhome rentals in Burnet include a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa beds, full kitchen (fridge, freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink), bathroom with toilet and shower, roof AC, furnace, awning, leveling jacks, and seatbelted seating. What add-ons and pickup options should I look at when booking?

The right add-ons turn a good Burnet RV trip into a great one. Common host extras include delivery and setup (typically $75-$250 depending on distance), generator use, bedding and linen packages, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, bike racks, kayaks or SUPs (perfect for Inks Lake's Devil's Waterhole), and propane refills. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Burnet, with most hosts offering flexible pickup and drop-off windows on a 24-hour rental day. Mileage policies are listed clearly on each listing, from 100 free miles per night up to unlimited. Pro tip: book a bike rack and a host-recommended SUP, then paddle straight to the granite slabs at Inks Lake.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Booking is simple and transparent. You pay through RVezy's secure checkout with a credit or debit card (no cash to the host), and the total includes the nightly rate, RVezy service fee, your chosen protection plan, and any add-ons or delivery fees. A refundable security deposit (typically $500-$1,500 depending on the rig) is held separately from your booking payment before pickup and released after the trip once the RV is returned in the condition you got it. Avoid issues by snapping a quick walk-around video at pickup and drop-off, returning with the same fuel and propane levels, and emptying the tanks at the campground dump station. Pro tip: keep your card's available limit higher than the deposit so the hold posts smoothly.
