Meridian State Park's Crosstimbers campground is nestled among limestone bluffs in the scenic Texas Hill Country, approximately 50 miles northwest of Waco. The 72-acre park blends outdoor recreation with historic charm, featuring well-preserved structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1933-1934.
The campground accommodates all camping styles with diverse sites, including full-hookup RV sites with 50-amp electrical service, partial-hookup options, primitive tent sites, rustic cabins, and screened shelters. Pet-friendly accommodations are available throughout the park. Full amenities include modern restrooms, hot showers, a boat launch, picnic areas with grills and tables, and a dump station.
Outdoor enthusiasts find abundant activities: hiking five miles of scenic trails including a 2.2-mile loop circling the lake, fishing (no license required in the park), kayaking, and swimming. Spring visitors may spot endangered golden-cheeked warblers in their natural habitat.
