Not only was John thoughtful and thorough with explaining how everything worked, he went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed (and that we didn’t forget anything when dropping it off)! The van was extremely clean, functional, and a pleasure to drive and sleep in. Would absolutely book again. Thank you!

2022 Grand Design Travel Trailer
I recently rented Pascal’s 33-foot travel trailer for a one-week trip to Gaspésie, Quebec with my wife, and the entire experience was nothing short of outstanding. The trailer was spotless, spacious, and felt truly luxurious, fully equipped with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and memorable vacation. Pascal was an outstanding host, extremely friendly, responsive, and truly committed to making sure our trip was perfect. He carefully walked me through the setup, answered all my questions with patience, and made the entire rental process seamless from start to finish. Thanks to Pascal, our adventure was completely stress-free and incredibly enjoyable. We would recommend renting from him without hesitation, he truly made our Gaspésie trip unforgettable!

Renting ‘Buzz lightyear’ was an awesome experience. The coach itself drove smoothly. The space inside was very comfortable. Philip, the owner, has made upgrades to the beds. So our sleep was restful. Philip was also an amazing and accommodating host. He shared his extensive knowledge of the coach with us before leaving so that we felt comfortable with all of the amenities. He was prompt at responding to any of our questions or concerns, responding with kindness, and understanding.

We had an excellent experience with Rick and the RV. It was clean, well maintained and drove smoothly. The RV contained everything we needed for a long road trip, including a bbq and comfy camp chairs. Our family had a great adventure. We had one small unavoidable issue with the generator but Rick was quick to reply with advice, which was greatly appreciated. Rick and Keryl were excellent hosts.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Caraquet, NB

How much does an RV rental in Caraquet typically cost?

An RV rental in Caraquet is one of the most affordable ways to experience the Acadian Peninsula. On RVezy, towable trailers average around $125 to $175 CAD per night, while motorhomes typically run about $200 to $275 CAD per night, and many hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts for weekly or monthly bookings. What licence do I need to rent an RV in Caraquet, NB?

Great news: a regular Class 5 driver's licence is all you need to rent an RV in Caraquet for any motorhome or trailer up to 4,500 kg, which covers virtually every RV listed on RVezy. New Brunswick has one of the most RV-friendly licence rules in Canada, so there is no special endorsement or commercial licence required. To book, you must be 25 or older and complete RVezy's quick ID verification through the platform. Visiting from the US, the UK, France or elsewhere? Your home licence works perfectly for the length of your visit, and an International Driving Permit (IDP) is a smart backup if your licence is not in English or French.

Is insurance and roadside assistance included with my Caraquet RV rental?

Yes, and that is one of the best parts of booking through RVezy. Every RV rental in Caraquet includes a protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you get a flat on Route 11 or need a battery boost at Maison Touristique Dugas Camping, help is one phone call away. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle, giving you real financial peace of mind on your Acadian Peninsula trip. During checkout, you choose the level of coverage that fits your comfort level (hosts do not pick this for you). Pro tip: review the coverage options carefully if you are a first-time renter, because the upgraded tier is often only a few extra dollars per day.

What if I need to cancel my Caraquet RV trip?

Booking is low-risk, so go ahead and lock in those August Festival acadien dates. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every booking includes a grace-period window where you can cancel for a full refund shortly after booking. Beyond that, refund amounts depend on how far out you cancel and the circumstances. If your plans change, contact RVezy support directly for guidance through the cancellation process. Pro tip: book early to secure the best Caraquet motorhomes for July and August, knowing you have flexibility built into your reservation.

Can I bring my dog on a Caraquet RV trip?

Absolutely, the Acadian Peninsula is a tail-wagging paradise. To find a pet-friendly RV rental in Caraquet, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and browse listings whose hosts welcome your furry co-pilot. Once you arrive, your dog will love the leash-friendly beach at Plage Caraquet, the paved Veloroute de la Peninsule acadienne along the water, and the open dunes near Pokeshaw Park just west of town. Most Caraquet-area campgrounds, including Camping Colibri sur Mer and Camping La Marina, allow leashed pets at your site. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee or size limit so check-in is seamless.

Can the RV be delivered directly to my campsite in Caraquet?

Yes, RV delivery in Caraquet is one of the smartest ways to start your trip, especially if you are a first-time renter or flying into Bathurst Airport (ZBF) about an hour away. Many RVezy hosts will drop the RV at Camping Colibri sur Mer, Camping La Marina, Maison Touristique Dugas Camping, or a private cottage, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just use the Delivery filter when searching, and check each host's delivery radius and fee. Pro tip: a delivered, set-up trailer at a Chaleur Bay site means you skip the towing learning curve entirely and go straight to lobster suppers and sunset photos.

How far can I drive on a Caraquet RV trip, and how do mileage policies work?

You have plenty of room to roam. Every Caraquet RV listing on RVezy clearly shows its included kilometres per night, and many hosts offer generous packages or even RV rentals with unlimited mileage, ideal for the wide-open Acadian Coastal Drive. From Caraquet, popular routes include Kouchibouguac National Park (about 165 km south), Miscou Island lighthouse (about 75 km northeast), Mount Carleton Provincial Park (about 240 km west), and the Gaspe coast in Quebec via Campbellton and the Van Horne Bridge. Pro tip: if you are planning a multi-province RV road trip from Caraquet to PEI or Cape Breton, filter for unlimited-km listings up front so kilometres never limit your itinerary.

Where are the best campgrounds near Caraquet for my RV?

You are spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Caraquet sit right along Chaleur Bay with easy access to beaches, seafood, and Acadian culture. Top picks include Camping Colibri sur Mer (open mid-May to mid-October, paved bike path and famous sunsets), Camping La Marina Caraquet (waterfront sites steps from the harbour), Maison Touristique Dugas Camping (quiet sites with full and partial hookups), and Camping Plage Grande-Anse (10 minutes west, on a cliffside beach). For a provincial-park feel, Sugarloaf Provincial Park in Atholville (about 130 km west) is a fantastic add-on. Pro tip: weekends during the Festival acadien (early August) sell out months ahead, so book your site as soon as your RVezy reservation is confirmed.

When is the best time of year for RV camping in Caraquet?

Late June through early September is the sweet spot for RV camping in Caraquet, when daytime temperatures hover between 20 and 26 degrees Celsius and Chaleur Bay water actually gets warm enough to swim (it's one of the warmest saltwater bays north of Virginia). July and August bring the famous Festival acadien de Caraquet, lobster season, and lively night markets. Shoulder seasons are quieter: June offers wildflowers and fewer mosquitoes, while September brings warm days, cool nights, and golden coastal light. Winters are snowy with temperatures often dipping below minus 15 degrees Celsius, so most local campgrounds close mid-October. Pro tip: aim for the first two weeks of August if you want the full Acadian cultural experience.

I have never rented an RV before. How does the pickup and orientation work?

You are in great hands, and first time renting an RV in Caraquet is easier than you would think. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup or delivery, showing you how to operate the propane stove, water pump, slide-outs, awning, generator, and waste tanks. They answer questions, share favourite local stops, and many leave a printed cheat sheet inside the RV. You can also message your host any time before and during the trip through the RVezy app. Pro tip: book a travel trailer that is already delivered and set up at Camping Colibri sur Mer for your first night, so you can focus on enjoying the sunset instead of learning to back into a site.

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You are never on your own. Every Caraquet RV rental on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical breakdowns. If you have a slow leak heading down Route 145 or a fridge that will not cool at Maison Touristique Dugas Camping, one call gets help dispatched. Your host is also a quick message away through the RVezy app for anything RV-specific, like resetting a generator or troubleshooting the water pump. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before you leave home, since Caraquet has reliable cell service but some Acadian Peninsula back roads do not.

Can I take my Caraquet RV rental to Quebec, PEI, or the United States?

Yes, and the Acadian Peninsula is perfectly positioned for a multi-destination RV road trip from Caraquet. Quebec's Gaspe Peninsula is just across the provincial border, Prince Edward Island via the Confederation Bridge is about 300 km south, and Cape Breton's Cabot Trail is roughly 500 km east. Cross-province travel within Canada is generally allowed; for trips to the United States (think Bar Harbor, Maine), message your host before booking to confirm cross-border permission and ensure protection coverage extends across the border. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy bookings. Pro tip: a 10-day loop from Caraquet through Perce, Quebec City, and back through the Bay of Fundy is a Maritime classic.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Caraquet RV trip?

Fuel is one of the more predictable costs on your Caraquet RV trip. Class C motorhomes average 18 to 22 litres per 100 km, Class B campervans about 12 to 14, and a tow vehicle with a travel trailer typically lands around 16 to 20. Gas prices in New Brunswick are regulated weekly by the Energy and Utilities Board, so you will see consistent pricing at stations across Caraquet, Shippagan, and Bathurst. A 500 km loop around the Acadian Peninsula in a Class C usually costs $140 to $190 CAD in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Caraquet or Bathurst before heading to Miscou Island, where stations are limited and close earlier in the evening.
www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/departments/energy_utilities_board.html

How far in advance should I book a campground near Caraquet?

Book early and your trip will be effortless. For July and August, especially around the Festival acadien (first two weeks of August), reserve your campsite 3 to 4 months ahead at popular spots like Camping Colibri sur Mer and Camping La Marina. Provincial parks in New Brunswick open reservations each spring through the Parcs NB Parks booking system, and waterfront sites at Sugarloaf and Mont-Carleton go fast. For June and September trips, 2 to 4 weeks of lead time is usually plenty. Pro tip: if your dates are flexible, search mid-week arrivals (Sunday to Thursday) for better availability and quieter campgrounds along the Acadian Coastal Drive.
parcsnbparks.ca/en/reservations

What are the roads and driving conditions like around Caraquet?

Driving in Caraquet is refreshingly stress-free. The Acadian Peninsula is mostly flat with wide, well-maintained two-lane highways (Route 11 and Route 145 are the main arteries), light traffic outside of festival weekends, and clear bilingual French and English signage. There are no mountain passes, narrow tunnels, or low bridges to worry about, making it ideal for first-time RV drivers. Summer brings occasional fog along the coast and the rare moose crossing inland, so drive cautiously at dawn and dusk. Winter conditions (November to April) include snow and ice, and most rentals are summer-only. Pro tip: the stretch of Route 11 between Caraquet and Shippagan is a perfect easy drive to practice handling your RV on day one.

What hookups and dump stations can I expect at Caraquet-area campgrounds?

You'll find excellent infrastructure for RV camping near Caraquet. Most local campgrounds, including Camping Colibri sur Mer, Camping La Marina, and Maison Touristique Dugas Camping, offer 15, 30, and some 50 amp electrical, fresh water fill, and dump stations on site. Provincial parks like Sugarloaf provide serviced and unserviced loops with shared dump stations near the exit. Potable water is widely available and safe to drink across the peninsula. Showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi are standard at the private campgrounds in Caraquet proper. Pro tip: ask your RVezy host whether the RV arrives with a freshwater hose, sewer hose, and surge protector. Most include these essentials, so you can pull in and hook up in under 10 minutes.

What features and amenities come with a typical Caraquet RV rental?

You will be impressed by how well-equipped these rigs are. A typical motorhome rental in Caraquet sleeps 4 to 7 and comes with a full kitchen (fridge, propane stove, microwave), bathroom with hot shower, furnace, air conditioning, dinette, and seatbelted seating. Campervan rentals in Caraquet are perfect for couples, with compact kitchens and cozy beds ideal for chasing sunsets along Chaleur Bay. Many listings include a generator, outdoor speakers, BBQ, bedding, and kitchen kits. Wi-Fi and satellite TV vary by host, but cell coverage on the Acadian Peninsula is generally strong. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count on RVezy to match the rig to your group, a family RV trip in Caraquet often works best in a Class C with bunks.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Caraquet%2C%20New%20Brunswick

What add-ons and options can I get with my Caraquet RV rental?

Hosts make it easy to customize your motorhome rental in Caraquet. Common add-ons include delivery and setup, generator use, propane refills, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, camp chairs, BBQs, bike racks, paddleboards, and outdoor mats, ideal for relaxing oceanside at Camping Colibri sur Mer. Each listing shows pricing for add-ons, mileage allowance per night (often 100 to 200 km, sometimes unlimited), and pickup and drop-off times right on the page. Most hosts offer pickup in Caraquet, Bathurst, or Shippagan. Pro tip: bundle the delivery, setup, and linen package on your first rental. For an extra $100 to $200 total, your trip starts the moment you walk through the door instead of after a hardware-store run.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental in Caraquet, you pay through RVezy with a major credit card, so there is no exchanging cash with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 CAD depending on the RV) and is released after drop-off, assuming the RV is returned in similar condition with tanks emptied. To avoid any issues, take time-stamped photos at pickup and return, follow the host's fueling and dumping instructions, and respect the mileage allowance. Pro tip: ask about the nearest dump station in Caraquet (most local campgrounds have one) so your return is smooth and your deposit is back in your account fast.
