Late June through August is the prime window, when Gulf of St. Lawrence water temperatures are at their warmest and all campground services are running. July and early August bring the busiest crowds and the best beach weather, so reservations are recommended. Early June and September offer quieter shoulder-season camping with cooler nights, fewer bugs, and easier site availability for RV travellers.

Val-Comeau Beach is a long, sandy Gulf of St. Lawrence beach directly accessible from the campground. The shallow, warm water is ideal for families, and the adjacent day-use area offers picnic tables and restrooms. RV parking is available near the beach access for campers and day visitors.
Short walking paths wind through the coastal forest and dune system around the campground. The easy terrain suits all ages and gives a good look at the fragile dune ecosystem along the Acadian coast.
The coastline around Val-Comeau is a productive birding area, with shorebirds, gulls, terns, and migrating waterfowl common in summer. Bring binoculars for early-morning walks along the shoreline and nearby wetlands.
Miscou Island sits at the northern tip of the Acadian Peninsula and is reachable by a scenic drive of about 1.5 hours from Val-Comeau. Highlights include the historic Miscou Lighthouse, peat bog boardwalks, and quiet beaches.
Kouchibouguac National Park is roughly an hour south and offers extensive boardwalks, lagoons, and one of the Maritimes' best cycling networks. It makes a strong full-day trip from a Val-Comeau base. parks.canada.ca/pn-np/nb/kouchibouguac
Tracadie-Sheila is the nearest full-service town, about 15 minutes south, with groceries, restaurants, and fuel for RV travellers. It also features the Musée historique de Tracadie and waterfront walking paths.
The warm, shallow waters off Val-Comeau are among the warmest saltwater swimming spots north of Virginia in midsummer. Long stretches of sand at low tide are ideal for beachcombing, sandcastle building, and tide-pool exploring.

From Moncton it is about a 2.5 hour drive north via Route 11, and from Bathurst roughly 1 hour east.
