2017 Forest River Travel Trailer
My family had a wonderful experience renting this trailer. The communication from the beginning was incredible. Any questions I had were answered quickly and it felt like I had a partner in this process, which helped as this was my first experience renting a trailer on RVezy. Sheila was a dream at pickup. She helped me get everything set up, and gave a great walkthrough of all of the features and logistics of the trailer. Very thorough and appreciated. I drove away feeling confident on my adventure. My two little ones loved the bunkbeds and the bigger bed was great for me. The trailer was perfect for our little beach campground adventure. Sheila also packed some fun activities for my little ones to play with including wooden airplane gliders, glow sticks, and bubbles. The little gesture was so nice and thoughtful. Overall 100/10 would rent again. Sheila you're a dream and it was so fun to get to take your beautiful trailer out on the open road for a fun weekend.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Garibaldi, Oregon?

Great news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Garibaldi, Oregon. Oregon does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs, including big Class A motorhomes and fifth wheels you'll find on RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform during booking, so there's no paperwork to bring to pickup. Visiting from outside the U.S.? When is the best time of year for a Garibaldi RV trip?

July, August, and September are the sweet spot for a Garibaldi RV trip, with average highs in the upper 60s to low 70s F, the lowest rainfall of the year, and the calmest seas for fishing and crabbing on Tillamook Bay. June is a great shoulder month with fewer crowds and mild days in the mid 60s, while May and October bring cooler temps in the upper 50s with occasional sunny breaks. Winter is wet and windy along the north Oregon Coast, but storm-watching from a cozy motorhome rental Garibaldi can be magical if you are up for it. Pro tip: book July dates by March, the small inventory of coastal RVs goes fast once summer arrives.

I've never driven an RV before, will I be okay in Garibaldi?

You are going to do great, and you are not alone, many Garibaldi renters are first-timers. Your host gives a hands-on orientation at pickup covering driving, leveling, propane, water, and the dump process, and you can text or call them anytime during your trip. Highway 101 through Garibaldi is a two-lane coastal road with wide shoulders and moderate speed limits, very manageable for a first RV. If you are nervous about driving at all, choose delivery and let the host park it for you. Pro tip: for your first time renting an RV, pick a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer (under 25 feet) and practice in a large lot before heading out.

What should I budget for fuel on a Garibaldi RV trip?

Fuel is one of the bigger variables, but it is easy to plan for. Expect roughly 7 to 10 mpg for a Class A, 10 to 14 mpg for a Class C, 12 to 16 mpg for a campervan, and 12 to 18 mpg towing a travel trailer. Oregon gas prices in Tillamook County typically run a bit above the national average, and there are stations right in Garibaldi and Tillamook. Pro tip: fuel up in Tillamook before heading down the Three Capes Loop, prices climb in smaller towns like Pacific City and Neskowin. Budget roughly $80 to $150 in fuel for a typical 3-day coastal loop.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Garibaldi?

Book early and you'll get the best sites, simple as that. Oregon State Parks (including Cape Lookout and Nehalem Bay) open reservations exactly 6 months ahead through the Oregon State Parks reservation system, and the prime oceanfront spots vanish within minutes for July and August weekends. Tillamook County Parks like Barview Jetty and Kilchis River also use online reservations and open 6 months out. Private parks in Garibaldi often accept reservations a year ahead. Pro tip: if you strike out on a weekend, look for a Sunday-through-Thursday stay, midweek availability is dramatically better and rates are lower, plus you'll have the beaches mostly to yourself for some of the best RV camping Garibaldi has to offer.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=v.page&id=72

What are the local driving conditions like around Garibaldi?

Driving around Garibaldi is straightforward and scenic. Highway 101 is a well-maintained two-lane coastal route with frequent pullouts, perfect for soaking up Tillamook Bay views. Watch for sudden coastal fog, especially in mornings from May through July, and crosswinds when crossing exposed sections near the jetty. The Three Capes Loop has tighter curves and steeper grades, so go slow in anything over 25 feet. Highway 6 over the Coast Range to Portland has several climbs and curves but no narrow tunnels or low clearances. Winter brings occasional fallen-tree closures, so check Oregon's TripCheck website before you roll. Pro tip: download TripCheck on your phone for real-time camera views of Highway 101 and Highway 6 conditions.

You'll have plenty of options. Most full-hookup parks around Garibaldi offer 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer at the site, including Barview Jetty County Park and many private parks along Highway 101. Oregon State Parks like Cape Lookout and Nehalem Bay typically offer electric and water hookups with central dump stations and free hot showers. Potable water fill-up is available at Barview Jetty and at the Tillamook County Transfer Station dump site. Most coastal parks have decent cell coverage but spotty Wi-Fi, so download maps and shows before you arrive. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot water hose and a 50-to-30-amp adapter, the two items first-timers most often wish they'd packed when arriving at the best campgrounds near Garibaldi.

Generators are common in Class A and C motorhomes for boondocking, and some hosts offer Wi-Fi hotspots as an add-on. How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and fully digital, no cash and no awkward handoffs. You pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card when you book, and your payment is processed securely. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, then released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. To avoid any deposit issues, take time-stamped photos and a quick walkaround video at both pickup and dropoff. Pro tip: return your Garibaldi rental with a full fuel tank and empty holding tanks (Tillamook has a public dump station), the two most common deposit deductions on coastal trips.

A family RV trip Garibaldi can easily fill a long weekend: ride the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach, hunt for agates at Barview Jetty, tour the Tillamook Creamery about 10 miles south, and crab right off the public pier in town. Most RVs on RVezy sleep 4 to 8, with bunk beds and dinette conversions kids love. Pro tip: book a site at Cape Lookout State Park (about 25 miles south) so the kids can run from the RV door to the beach and tidepools, it is the trip they will talk about for years.
