2017 Forest River Travel Trailer
My family had a wonderful experience renting this trailer. The communication from the beginning was incredible. Any questions I had were answered quickly and it felt like I had a partner in this process, which helped as this was my first experience renting a trailer on RVezy. Sheila was a dream at pickup. She helped me get everything set up, and gave a great walkthrough of all of the features and logistics of the trailer. Very thorough and appreciated. I drove away feeling confident on my adventure. My two little ones loved the bunkbeds and the bigger bed was great for me. The trailer was perfect for our little beach campground adventure. Sheila also packed some fun activities for my little ones to play with including wooden airplane gliders, glow sticks, and bubbles. The little gesture was so nice and thoughtful. Overall 100/10 would rent again. Sheila you're a dream and it was so fun to get to take your beautiful trailer out on the open road for a fun weekend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Tillamook, OR

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Tillamook?

An RV rental in Tillamook is one of the most affordable ways to explore the Oregon Coast. Expect roughly $90 to $175 per night for travel trailers and campervans, $150 to $250 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 to $350 for larger Class A rigs, with peak rates landing in July and August. Booking in May, late September, or October can shave 20 to 30 percent off summer pricing, and the weather is still beautiful. For a cheap RV rental in Tillamook, filter by travel trailers or truck campers and look for hosts offering local delivery, which lets you skip a tow vehicle. Pro tip: weeklong bookings often unlock automatic discounts from hosts.

What kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Tillamook?

Easy news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Tillamook. Oregon does not require a CDL or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers under 26,000 lbs GVWR, which covers virtually every rig on the RVezy platform. You must be 25 or older to book, and ID verification happens right inside the RVezy app. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Grab an International Driving Permit from your home auto club before your trip and you are set. Most first-time renters in Tillamook are surprised at how straightforward the paperwork is, leaving you free to focus on the cheese, the beaches, and the drive down Highway 101.

Is protection and roadside assistance included with my Tillamook RV rental?

Yes, and this is one of the best reasons to book on RVezy. Every motorhome rental in Tillamook automatically includes a protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered for the kinds of things that worry first-time renters: tire issues on Highway 101, lockouts at Cape Lookout, or a dead battery at the Tillamook Creamery parking lot. During checkout you choose your protection level, and that plan covers most damage to the RV during your trip. You choose the coverage tier, not the host. That means you decide how much peace of mind you want before heading out on the Three Capes Scenic Loop.

What happens if I need to cancel my Tillamook RV trip?

Booking is low risk. RVezy applies a clear cancellation policy to every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after you book, so you have breathing room if plans shift. Refund outcomes depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. Because RVezy, not the host, manages the cancellation policy, you get consistent treatment no matter which RV you choose. If a host cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit. If you are worried about Oregon Coast weather, book a flexible week in shoulder season and message your host early. Full details are in the RVezy Help Center.

Can I bring my dog on a Tillamook RV rental?

Absolutely, and the Tillamook Coast is a dream for dogs. Plenty of pet-friendly RV rental options in Tillamook are just a filter click away on RVezy, so toggle Pet-Friendly to only see listings that welcome your pup. Dogs are allowed on leash at Cape Lookout State Park, and Bayocean Spit near Tillamook Bay is a favorite for long walks. Oregon State Parks require pets to be on a leash no longer than 6 feet inside campgrounds. Pro tip: ask your host about a portable water bowl and a tie-out, many include them as part of their pet add-on.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Tillamook?

Yes, RV delivery in Tillamook is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-timers. Many hosts will drop the RV at Cape Lookout State Park, Nehalem Bay State Park, Kelly's Brighton Marina, or a private driveway in town, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who serve Tillamook County. Delivery fees usually run by the mile from the host's home base, so a Cape Lookout drop is often cheaper than a Pacific City one. Pro tip: ask for setup plus pickup so you never have to drive the RV at all.

How far can I drive from Tillamook on a typical rental?

Plenty far to build an unforgettable Tillamook RV trip. Most hosts include between 100 and 150 free miles per night, and some offer unlimited mileage packages, which is ideal for cruising Highway 101. From Tillamook you can reach Cannon Beach in about 45 miles north, Lincoln City around 45 miles south, Portland about 75 miles east via Highway 6, and Astoria roughly 70 miles north along the coast. If you are planning a longer loop, message your host before booking to add an unlimited mileage option. Pro tip: the Three Capes Scenic Loop is about 40 miles and feels like a national park drive.

What are the best campgrounds near Tillamook for RVs?

You are spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Tillamook include Cape Lookout State Park, about 12 miles southwest with full and partial hookups right behind the dunes; Nehalem Bay State Park, about 25 miles north with electric sites and beach access; Barview Jetty County Park in Garibaldi with oceanfront sites; Kilchis River County Park, a few miles east on a quiet river; and Tillamook Bay City RV Park with full hookups on the bay. Tillamook County operates several county campgrounds that book up fast. Pro tip: reserve Cape Lookout exactly 6 months ahead the day reservations open for your dates, or you will be on the waitlist.

When is the best time to take an RV trip from Tillamook?

July through September is the sweet spot for RV camping in Tillamook. Days are typically dry and pleasantly mild, with average highs around 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit and nights in the low 50s, while July is the driest month. June and late September are quieter shoulder weeks with similar temperatures and lower rental rates. Winters are wet, but a winter Tillamook RV trip can be magical for storm watching at Cape Meares. Pro tip: book August for the most reliable beach weather, and reserve coastal sites about 6 months out.
weather.gov/pqr/

I have never driven an RV before, is Tillamook a good place to start?

Tillamook is one of the friendliest places in Oregon for first time renting an RV. Highway 101 through town is wide and flat, traffic is light outside summer weekends, and most coastal campgrounds have pull-through sites so you barely need to back up. Every RVezy host gives a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, propane, water, and waste tanks, and you can message them anytime during your trip. If big rigs feel intimidating, start with a Class B campervan or a small travel trailer, both common in Tillamook listings. Pro tip: practice a few turns in a large lot before heading to your campsite.

What if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You are not on your own. Every RV rental in Tillamook on RVezy comes with 24/7 roadside assistance included with the protection plan, so a flat on Highway 6, a dead battery at Cape Kiwanda, or a tow off the soft sand at Sand Lake is one phone call away. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip, and you can message your host directly through the app, most respond quickly. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's VIN, license plate, and the nearest mile marker the moment you pull off, it makes dispatching help to the right spot on the Oregon Coast much faster.

Can I drive my Tillamook RV rental into Canada or other states?

Yes for the U.S. and often yes for Canada, but never Mexico. Most hosts allow interstate travel, so a road trip from Tillamook up through Washington to Olympic National Park or down to Redwood National Park in California is completely doable. Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed by some hosts when insurance and protection coverage extends north, so message the host before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because the protection plan does not extend there. Pro tip: a popular RV road trip from Tillamook is Highway 101 south to Bandon and the Oregon Dunes, about 250 miles of jaw-dropping coast you can do in 5 nights.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What should I budget for fuel on a Tillamook RV trip?

Fuel is usually the second biggest line item after the rental itself, but it is very manageable. Oregon gas prices typically run above the national average, and Tillamook stations sit close to the state average. Plan on roughly 7 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class C motorhome, 6 to 8 for a Class A, and 15 to 20 for a Class B campervan or your tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer. A 4-night Three Capes Scenic Loop and Astoria round trip typically burns about $120 to $200 in fuel. Pro tip: Costco in Warrenton, an hour north, and Fred Meyer in Tillamook usually have the cheapest fuel on the North Coast.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far ahead should I book a campground near Tillamook?

Earlier than you think, but it is not stressful once you know the system. Oregon State Parks like Cape Lookout open reservations 6 months in advance through the Oregon State Parks reservation portal, and the most coveted summer weekends sell out within minutes. Tillamook County campgrounds also book about 6 months ahead through the county parks reservation site. Private parks like Tillamook Bay City RV Park or Kelly's Brighton Marina are usually bookable further out and are great backups. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for the morning reservations open, log in a few minutes early, and have your dates and rig length ready to paste.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=v.page&id=29

What are the local driving conditions like around Tillamook?

Tillamook is one of the easier Oregon Coast towns to drive in. Highway 101 through downtown is flat, two to four lanes, and well marked, while Highway 6 east to Portland winds through the Coast Range with a few 6 percent grades, best taken in low gear with a Class A or fifth wheel. Fog is common on summer mornings and rain is frequent October through April, so leave extra braking distance. Watch for elk crossings near Mohler, logging trucks on Highway 6, and tight curves on the Three Capes Scenic Loop. Pro tip: avoid driving Highway 101 between 3 and 6 p.m. on summer Sundays when beach traffic backs up south of Tillamook.

Where can I dump tanks and refill water near Tillamook?

Plenty of options, and most are quick stops. Cape Lookout State Park, Nehalem Bay State Park, and Barview Jetty County Park all have dump stations open to registered campers, and Tillamook Bay City RV Park offers a public dump and potable fill for a small fee. Most full hookup sites in the area provide 20, 30, and 50 amp service plus city water at your pad. Inside campgrounds expect picnic tables, fire rings, flush toilets, and hot showers at the state parks. Pro tip: top off your fresh tank in Tillamook before driving the Three Capes Scenic Loop, the smaller campgrounds out there are dry camping only.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=134

What amenities can I expect inside an RV rental in Tillamook?

More than you think. A typical campervan rental in Tillamook includes a queen bed, two-burner stove, fridge, sink, and a wet bath, while Class C motorhome rentals usually sleep 4 to 7 with a separate bathroom, full kitchen, dinette, overhead bunk, and roof AC. Travel trailers and fifth wheels add slide-outs, real couches, and often a dedicated bunk room for kids. Most RVs include a generator or solar setup, seatbelts for every sleeping spot in motorhomes, propane heat for chilly Tillamook nights, and basic kitchenware. WiFi and TV vary, so check the listing. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps 6+ if you are bringing a family, and confirm a heated mattress pad for shoulder season trips.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Tillamook%2C%20Oregon

What add-ons and pickup logistics should I know about for my Tillamook rental?

Hosts in Tillamook offer a flexible menu of extras to make your trip smoother. Common add-ons include bedding and linen packs, kitchen kits, generator hours, propane refills, bike racks, kayaks, camp chairs, and pet packages, typically ranging from about $25 to $75 each. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Tillamook, Bay City, Garibaldi, or Pacific City, with drop-off in the late morning. Mileage policies range from 100 free miles per night to unlimited mileage on select rigs. Pro tip: ask for early pickup the day before your reservation, many hosts offer it free or at a small fee, which lets you pack the night before and roll out at sunrise.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Tillamook%2C%20Oregon

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Oregon on RVezy, your payment is processed through the platform, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit, typically a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the rig, is handled separately from the booking payment and released after a clean return. To avoid any surprises, photograph the interior, exterior, generator hours, and odometer at pickup and drop-off, and return the RV with the same fuel and propane level. Pro tip: a 30-minute walkthrough at pickup catches most disputes before they ever happen.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I rent an RV in Tillamook during winter, and what should I know?

Yes, winter RV camping in Tillamook is genuinely magical, just dress for it. Many hosts keep their rigs available year-round, and winter rates often drop noticeably from summer pricing. Look for listings labeled four-season or with heated holding tanks and enclosed underbellies, which help prevent frozen pipes on chilly coastal nights. Cape Lookout, Nehalem Bay, and Barview Jetty stay open through winter with electric hookups, so you can run your furnace from shore power. Storm watching from Cape Meares and the Three Capes Scenic Loop is unreal between November and February. Pro tip: pack an extra propane tank, a small space heater for shore power use, and rain gear, you will use all three.
weather.gov/pqr/

Are there family-friendly RV trip ideas based out of Tillamook?

Tillamook is built for a family RV trip. Base yourself at Cape Lookout State Park, about 12 miles from town, and your kids are seconds from the beach, the dunes, and a junior ranger program. Day trips from there include the Tillamook Creamery for ice cream and cheese tastings, the Tillamook Air Museum inside a historic blimp hangar, dory boats launching off the sand at Pacific City, and tide pools near Oceanside's Three Arch Rocks. Older kids love sandboarding at Sand Lake Recreation Area, about 14 miles south. Pro tip: a 5-night loop covering Cape Lookout, Nehalem Bay, and Cannon Beach hits every kid-pleaser on the North Coast with under 100 miles of driving total.
