We had a great experience renting this RV. The RV was comfortable, clean, and exactly what we needed for our trip. The owner was incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive the whole time. Even when we had an incident and needed assistance, she was understanding and supportive, which made a stressful situation much easier. Highly recommend renting from them!

I had an outstanding experience renting from Younes! The travel trailer was brand new and in perfect condition. Younes went above and beyond by providing all the necessary equipment and taking the time to walk us through every detail before we hit the road. The service was excellent from start to finish. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a smooth and enjoyable RV rental experience!

vermontvacation.com/regions/lake-champlain-region/shelburneWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Shelburne, Vermont?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Shelburne, VT, no special endorsement or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Vermont allows standard license holders to operate motorhomes and tow travel trailers within typical weight limits, so most RVezy rentals are completely legal to drive on a Class D license. You'll just need to be 25 or older to book, and RVezy verifies your ID quickly through the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside the United States? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home-country license. Most first-time renters are pleasantly surprised at how simple the paperwork really is.
dmv.vermont.gov/licensesWhat protection comes with my Shelburne RV rental?
You can book with confidence: every RV rental in Shelburne, VT on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV, so a minor scrape at a Lake Champlain ferry lot or a tight squeeze at a Vermont state park won't derail your trip. During checkout you'll choose between RVezy protection plan tiers, each offering increasing levels of coverage and lower deductibles. Pick the tier that matches your comfort level and focus on enjoying the Green Mountains, knowing roadside help is one call away if you need it.

Yes, RVezy keeps booking your Shelburne RV trip low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform, so terms are consistent and transparent no matter which Vermont listing you choose, and the policy isn't displayed on individual listings because it applies platform-wide. There's a grace period after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund, and additional refund options depend on how far in advance you cancel. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credits. Reach out to RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on my Shelburne RV trip?
Yes, your dog is welcome on plenty of Shelburne adventures. Filter for pet-friendly RV rental Shelburne on RVezy to instantly see hosts who allow furry co-pilots, and you'll find dozens of options across travel trailers, campervans, and motorhomes. Once you're here, Shelburne is genuinely dog-loving: leashed pups are welcome on the walking trails at Shelburne Farms' public Farm Trail, at Mt. Philo State Park, and along the Burlington waterfront's Island Line Trail just 15 minutes north. Shelburne Bay Park even has off-leash hours in the early morning. Pack a tie-out, a water bowl, and a towel for muddy lake paws, and your dog will love this trip as much as you do.
vtstateparks.com/pets.htmlCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Shelburne?
Yes, RV delivery in Shelburne is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. Many RVezy hosts in the Shelburne and Burlington area will drive the RV to your campsite at places like Shelburne Camping Area on Shelburne Road, Mt. Philo State Park in Charlotte, or North Beach Campground in Burlington, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system. Just use the Delivery filter when searching, then message the host with your campground name and site number to confirm the fee. It's the closest thing to glamping with none of the setup stress.
vtstateparks.com/camping.htmlHow many miles can I drive on my Shelburne RV rental?
You'll have plenty of road to roam. Most RVezy hosts in Shelburne, VT include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 miles per day), and some advertise RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for a longer Vermont RV trip. To put it in perspective: Burlington is just 8 miles north, Stowe is about 45 miles, Smugglers' Notch is 50 miles, Montpelier sits 45 miles east, and a scenic loop down to Killington is roughly 75 miles. Each listing shows the exact mileage policy and any per-mile overage rate before you book, so you can easily match the RV to your itinerary. Pro tip: message the host if you want a custom mileage package for a bigger loop.
vtrans.vermont.gov/highwayWhere are the best campgrounds near Shelburne to park my RV?
Shelburne is spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping. Top picks include Shelburne Camping Area at 4385 Shelburne Road, with full hookups, a pool, and walking distance to Shelburne Museum; Mt. Philo State Park in Charlotte (10 minutes south) for jaw-dropping Lake Champlain sunsets from the summit; Button Bay State Park in Vergennes (about 25 minutes south) with lakefront sites and a nature center; North Beach Campground in Burlington for beachfront camping just 15 minutes north; and Grand Isle State Park out on the Champlain Islands, around 35 minutes away. For state parks, book through the Vermont State Parks reservation system up to 11 months in advance, weekends in July, August, and foliage season fill fastest.
vtstateparks.com/findpark.htmlWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Shelburne?
Shelburne shines from late May through mid-October, with each season offering something special. Late spring (mid-May to June) brings 60-75°F days, blooming gardens at Shelburne Farms, and quieter campgrounds. Summer (July-August) averages 75-82°F with warm Lake Champlain swimming, perfect for an RV camping Shelburne family vacation. Fall foliage from late September through mid-October is legendary, expect 50-65°F days, brilliant maples, and apple-picking at nearby Shelburne Orchards. Winter RV travel is possible but limited; most state park campgrounds close mid-October through mid-May, so look for four-season private parks like Shelburne Camping Area or use shore-power-equipped sites. Pro tip: book foliage dates six to nine months ahead, they're the most coveted in all of New England.
weather.gov/btv/I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving one around Shelburne?
You've got this, and you won't be doing it alone. Every RVezy host in Shelburne provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, hookups, leveling, the propane system, and dumping tanks. Shelburne itself is a forgiving place to start: US Route 7 through town is wide and well-maintained, and most local campgrounds have pull-through sites that don't require backing in. If you'd rather skip driving entirely on day one, choose RV delivery in Shelburne and your host will set everything up at your campsite. Save your host's number, take a slow practice loop through a quiet lot, and you'll feel confident within an hour.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my Shelburne trip?
You're covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking in Shelburne, VT includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so if you have a flat tire on Route 7, a dead battery at a state park, or a mechanical issue on the way back from Stowe, one phone call gets help moving. Your host is also typically just a text away and knows the RV inside and out. Major service centers and tow operators are well-distributed across Chittenden County and Burlington, meaning response times in the Shelburne area are usually quick. Save the roadside number in your phone before pickup and travel with peace of mind.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat are the best road trip routes from Shelburne, VT?
Shelburne is a launchpad for some of New England's most beautiful drives. Popular RV road trips from Shelburne include: north to Burlington and the Champlain Islands (40 miles of lakefront and ferry-hopping); east on Route 100 through Waterbury, Stowe, and Smugglers' Notch (about 60 miles of postcard mountain scenery, just note that Smugglers' Notch road itself is closed to large RVs); south to Killington and Woodstock (roughly 90 miles); and a cross-border run to Montreal, Quebec, which sits about 95 miles north. Canada travel is allowed on many RVezy rentals when the host approves it in advance, just message them before booking and confirm passport and insurance details. Pro tip: leaf-peep on Route 100 in early October.
vtrans.vermont.gov/planning/mapsHow much should I budget for fuel during my Shelburne RV trip?
Fuel is easy to plan for in Vermont. Expect smaller campervans and Class B rentals to get 18-22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes 8-12 MPG, and larger Class A motorhomes 6-9 MPG. Vermont gas prices typically sit slightly above the national average, hovering around $3.20-$3.60 per gallon in recent seasons, with diesel a touch higher. For a typical 4-day Shelburne RV trip covering 250-400 miles (think Shelburne to Stowe, Burlington, and back), budget roughly $90-$180 in fuel for a mid-size motorhome. Pro tip: fill up at the Costco in Colchester or the Maplefields stations along Route 7 for some of the lowest prices in Chittenden County.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Shelburne?
Booking early is the single best move for a stress-free Shelburne RV trip. Vermont State Parks (including Mt. Philo, Button Bay, Grand Isle, and Underhill) open reservations 11 months in advance through the official Vermont State Parks reservation portal, and prime summer weekends often sell out within days of opening. Private parks like Shelburne Camping Area and Apple Island Resort in South Hero typically take bookings 6-12 months ahead and fill fast for July 4th, foliage season, and Labor Day. For shoulder-season trips in June or late September, 1-2 months ahead is usually plenty. Pro tip: if your dates are flexible, search Sunday-to-Thursday windows, you'll find availability even mid-summer.
vtstateparks.com/reservations.htmlWhat's driving like in and around Shelburne, Vermont?
Driving an RV around Shelburne is refreshingly relaxed compared to most metro areas. US Route 7, the main artery through town, is two lanes with wide shoulders and clear sightlines, and traffic only really thickens near Burlington at rush hour. Watch for a few quirks: Smugglers' Notch on Route 108 is closed to all RVs and trailers (it's a tight mountain pass, signs are well-posted), and Burlington's Church Street downtown area isn't RV-friendly, park outside the city and walk in. Winter brings snow from November through March, so most RV travel happens May to October. Vermont's back roads are stunning but narrow, so stick to numbered state routes with your rental. Take it slow and enjoy the views.
vtrans.vermont.gov/operationsWhat amenities can I expect at Shelburne-area campgrounds?
You'll find well-equipped campgrounds throughout the Shelburne area. Private parks like Shelburne Camping Area offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), cable, Wi-Fi, hot showers, laundry, a camp store, and a swimming pool. Vermont State Parks such as Mt. Philo and Button Bay provide more rustic experiences, water spigots, vault or flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station, but no individual hookups, so plan on using your RV's freshwater tank and generator or battery. Free dump stations are available at most state parks and some highway rest areas. Pro tip: top off freshwater before leaving Shelburne Camping Area or any private park, it's the easiest fill-up point you'll find between here and the mountains.
vtstateparks.com/amenities.htmlWhat's typically included inside a Shelburne RV rental?
Shelburne RV rentals come ready for adventure. Most listings on RVezy include sleeping for 4-8 people, a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and cookware, a bathroom with a toilet and shower, climate control (furnace and air conditioning), and DOT-approved seatbelts for travel passengers. Many hosts also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, camp chairs, and a propane grill, and some offer Wi-Fi hotspots or onboard generators, great for boondocking near Lake Champlain. Each listing's amenity checklist spells out exactly what's onboard. Pro tip: message your host to ask about linen packages and kitchen kits, many Shelburne hosts include them free or for a small fee so you can arrive and start cooking right away.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Shelburne%2C%20VermontWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for Shelburne RV rentals?
Hosts in Shelburne, VT offer a wide range of add-ons to customize your trip. Common extras include bedding and linen packages ($25-$75), kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, kayak or paddleboard mounts (perfect for Lake Champlain), portable grills, fire pits, and pet cleaning packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home address in Shelburne, South Burlington, or surrounding Chittenden County towns, but RV delivery in Shelburne is widely available, hosts will bring the rig directly to your campsite for a flat fee, often $2-$3 per mile. Mileage policies and add-on prices are clearly listed on each RVezy listing. Pro tip: bundle delivery with a linen package and you'll arrive to a fully made-up RV ready to roll.
vermontvacation.com/How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book your RV rental in Shelburne, VT, RVezy charges the rental cost through the platform, no cash exchanged with the host. A refundable security deposit is handled separately from your booking payment as a hold on your card shortly before your trip (amount is shown clearly on the listing, typically $500-$1,500 depending on the RV). As long as you return the RV in the same condition, with tanks handled per the host's instructions and within the mileage allowance, the hold is released after your trip ends. Pro tip: take photos at pickup and dropoff and do the walkthrough with your host, it's the easiest way to keep your deposit return smooth.
