4 stars for the owner. Shawn is a good guy, and worked with us on a very last minute booking when another unit fell through (due to mechanical issues). 1 star for the start-up day due to maintenance and mechanical issues. The previous renter left the black and grey tanks full, festering for weeks. The tires looked bald/worn, and later on I realized a steel belt was showing through on the worst one. Blowout waiting to happen! Owner said to go ahead and use the spare. Plus all (4) tire pressures were about 40, when they need to be 65 (well, 5 tires including the spare!). That's a LOT, and way too much air to use a little 12v pump. Had to get out my big compressor AND had to change a tire! We rented so it would be "Ezy". Why am I doing the owner's maintenance and repairs for them? We were delayed for hours, which meant our first sanidump and camp-set-up was in the dark. Beware renters (in general, not just this unit). Leave yourselves plenty of time. Be very picky about any questionable stuff you see. Sure, it's the owner's rig, but it's YOUR safety. I have a feeling that this kind of thing is quite common. Even though you are renting, you should still be technically and mechanically capable. 5 stars for the rest of the trip after the poor start. The unit is very well laid out, clean, attractive, comfortable and came with all manner of "kit" for the trip. Dishes, pots, pans, knives, chairs, ground mat, bbq, toilet paper, dish soap, DVDs, axe, etc. This was great! 4 stars overall. Despite the poor start, we really do like Shawn, and his unit is very nice and well outfitted. We would love to rent it again once we know that the tires/axles issues are remedied.
