Unfortunately, this rental didn’t work out. Craig seemed to want to do something nice for his family but it was all rushed. A last minute rental and a rushed handoff where he seemed to be distracted were not ideal but certainly acceptable at the time. We arranged for a return time and I received a text with a picture of the trailer left behind his office a couple hours earlier than the agreed time. The ball joint was still connected and the entire hitch mechanism was left hanging from the tongue. Apparently he couldn’t get it to unhitch. Upon inspection the trailer was left in a filthy state with severe damage to the rear stabilizers and extensive damage to trim around the interior of the slide. Both of these were the result of negligence when breaking camp. The stabilizers were not retracted before attempting to hitch up the trailer and the area in front of the slide was not kept clear prior to pulling it in. I was not at all impressed with his inability to admit to what had happened. I had to probe for the information to determine how he managed to do these things. I will not be renting to him again.
