2014 Gulf Stream ST369RL
I’ve spent considerable time in my 2014 Grand Design Solitude with the rear living layout, and overall it’s been a delight to own and travel with — one of the best fifth wheels I’ve experienced in this class.
Living Area
The rear living room is the highlight of this model. Expansive panoramic windows flood the interior with natural light and provide a fantastic view of the outdoors. The seating arrangement is comfortable and versatile — perfect for relaxing with family, entertaining friends, or just enjoying quiet evenings. The space feels open and airy, which is a rare treat in RV living rooms.
Build Quality & Interior
From the moment you step inside, the Solitude stands out for its thoughtful design and solid construction. The cabinetry is robust, the finishes have held up extremely well over time, and materials feel durable rather than flimsy. During long trips or extended stays, that attention to detail becomes very noticeable.
The interior layout balances luxury with functionality — no wasted space, and everything feels intuitively placed. Grand Design nailed the transitional flow from living to kitchen to bedroom.
Kitchen
The kitchen is both spacious and well-equipped. There’s generous countertop area, plenty of storage, and a practical design that works whether you’re preparing a simple breakfast or a full dinner. The appliances have been dependable, and storage is more than adequate for extended travel or full-time living.
Bedroom & Bathroom
The front bedroom offers a comfortable retreat at night with a pleasantly sized master bed and good storage in wardrobes and dressers. The bathroom is well thought out — roomy by fifth wheel standards, with a good layout and fixtures that feel durable.
Road Performance & Practical Use
Towing this Solitude feels stable and predictable. With proper hitch setup and weight distribution, it tracks well on highways and handles everyday travel without drama. Slide-outs operate smoothly and add substantial living space once set up.
Wear & Tear
Being a 2014 model, there are normal signs of use — minor cosmetic wear here and there — but structurally and functionally it has held up extremely well. There’s nothing that detracts from daily enjoyment or overall aesthetic.
⭐ Final Thoughts
The 2014 Grand Design Solitude rear living fifth wheel continues to impress me with its balance of comfort, build quality, and practical living design. For anyone looking for a spacious, durable, and well-appointed fifth wheel — whether for weekend travel, seasonal camps, or extended trips — this model is a standout choice.
