This is the perfect travel van for those of us new to rv camping as it drives very well/easily. We camped for a long weekend with a 10 month old and it couldnt be easier. Were able to set up the pack and play in the bottom and we slept in the pop up. The furnace works really well with a thermostat function so we could set it and forget about it. Toilet helped us keep away from the portapotties and didnt smell. And the insulated van kept out the noise at night (at a festival) and helped keep us slightly cooler during the day. Would rent again! 11/10. Brad explained how to use everything in the van thoroughly and was available to answer questions during the trip (which we didn't have any due to his walkthrough). Brad and Dawn were both very responsive through the whole process and it's evident they love this van because it is so well kept and very very clean.

What kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Central Frontenac?

Good news: your regular full Class G driver's license is all you need for almost every RV rental in Central Frontenac. Ontario allows full Class G holders to operate motorhomes and tow trailers within standard weight limits, which covers nearly every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. Out-of-province visitors can drive on a valid licence from their home jurisdiction, and international guests should bring an International Driving Permit. All RVezy renters must generally be 25 or older, and ID verification happens right inside your booking, so there is nothing extra to chase down at pickup.

I've never rented an RV before. How do I know I'll be okay driving one?

First time renting an RV? You're going to do great, and Central Frontenac is a forgiving place to start. Your host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, slide-outs, propane, water, waste tanks and the generator, and they're a text away during your trip. Roads here are mostly two-lane highways like Road 38 and Highway 7, with light traffic and gentle curves, very different from city driving. Choose a Class B campervan or smaller Class C if you're nervous about size. Pro tip: do your first night at Sharbot Lake Provincial Park, just 10 minutes from the village of Sharbot Lake for easy supply runs.

You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking in Central Frontenac includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, covering things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts and towing. Cell service is solid along Highway 7 and around Sharbot Lake but can get patchy on backroads near Arden or Mountain Grove, so save the roadside number offline before you head out. Your host is also a quick text away to troubleshoot small things like a tripped breaker or a finicky water pump. Pro tip: snap a photo of your RV's make, model and licence plate at pickup so help can find you fast.

What are local driving conditions like in Central Frontenac?

Driving an RV in Central Frontenac is refreshingly relaxed compared to city traffic. Highway 7 is the main east-west artery, two-laned, well-maintained and posted at 90 km/h, while Road 38 connects Sharbot Lake south to Kingston through rolling Canadian Shield countryside. Watch for white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk, especially between Parham and Arden, and stay alert for logging trucks on smaller roads. Winter brings snow and ice from late November through March, so most RV rentals operate May through October. Insider tip: avoid Highway 7 on Friday afternoons when Ottawa cottagers head west, leave Sharbot Lake earlier or later to skip the rush.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book your RV rental in Ontario through RVezy, you pay a portion upfront to confirm the reservation, with the balance due before your trip starts, all processed through the platform (never directly to the host). A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your credit card before pickup and released after the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid any holds, do a quick joint walkaround with your host at pickup and dropoff, take photos, and return the holding tanks as agreed. Pro tip: use a credit card with enough available limit so the deposit hold does not pinch your trip spending.
