Renting an RV can feel very overwhelming when you don’t know where to start. However, I found one that perfectly fit all the needs for my family. We’ve rented before, but Armando still took the time to give us an extensive walkthrough of his RV. It felt like a warm, peaceful space for the weekend, we were able to enjoy hot meals, a hot bath, and truly relax. Overall, it was an absolutely peaceful weekend.

Here’s a polished rewrite of your review: --- Matt was an outstanding host. He was flexible when I needed to adjust both the drop-off location and the rental dates for the RV. He personally met me to hand over the RV, walked me through how to use the equipment, and made sure I felt comfortable. Throughout the process, he was attentive and responsive to my concerns, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

Great experience with this team. They were very patient and answered our numerous questions quickly. This was our first experience with an RV and they made it very comfortable. The only thing that was a negative to me was the fact that they charge for gas to and from the location. I felt like this should have been taken from the delivery fee not charged on top of it. I also feel it should be disclosed prior to the RV being delivered.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Valley Falls, SC?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Valley Falls, SC. South Carolina does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers you'll find on RVezy, including Class A, Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. You'll need to be 25 or older to book, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during checkout, so there's nothing to mail in or fax. Visiting from overseas? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club before you fly. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the whole sign-up process is.

Yes, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental options in Valley Falls, and your pup will love the local trails. On RVezy, toggle the Pet-Friendly filter to see rigs that welcome dogs. Once you're on the road, Croft State Park, about 15 minutes south of Valley Falls, allows leashed dogs across nearly 7,000 acres of trails and lakefront, and Cottonwood Trail along Lawson's Fork Creek is another easy local favorite. Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Valley Falls, SC?

Yes, RV delivery in Valley Falls is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a big rig. Many hosts in the Spartanburg and Greenville-Spartanburg corridor will drive the RV to your campground, vacation rental, or driveway, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Common delivery spots include Croft State Park, Cunningham RV Park, and Lake Bowen-area campgrounds. Filter for Delivery on the search page to see hosts offering this service, and check their delivery radius and per-mile fee on the listing. Bundling delivery with setup is the easiest way to enjoy a stress-free Valley Falls RV trip from the moment you arrive.

How many miles can I drive on an RV rental from Valley Falls?

You have plenty of range, and several hosts in Valley Falls even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage for road-trip-friendly bookings. Most listings include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 miles per day) with a small per-mile fee beyond that, which is more than enough for local stays at Croft State Park or Lake Bowen. Planning a bigger loop? You're 35 miles from Greenville, 75 miles from Asheville, NC, about 90 miles from Charlotte, and roughly 200 miles from Charleston's coast. Look at each listing's mileage policy before booking and message the host if you're planning a longer route. Pro tip: unlimited-mileage rigs are gold for an RV road trip from Valley Falls into the Blue Ridge.

Where are the best campgrounds near Valley Falls, SC?

You have excellent options for campgrounds near Valley Falls. Top local picks include Cunningham RV Park in Spartanburg (full hookups, easy I-85 access), Croft State Park about 15 miles south (50-amp sites under the pines, two lakes, and miles of trails), Pine Ridge Campground in nearby Pauline (year-round, swimming pool, fishing pond), and Spartanburg NE/Gaffney KOA Holiday (family-friendly with cabins and a pool). Cowpens National Battlefield is nearby for day visits, though it doesn't operate an RV campground on site. For South Carolina state parks, reserve through the official state parks reservation system up to 11 months ahead. Croft State Park books out quickly for spring and fall weekends, so lock dates in as soon as your RV camping plans for Valley Falls are set.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Valley Falls, SC?

You can RV nearly year-round in Valley Falls thanks to South Carolina's mild Upstate climate. The sweet spots are April to early June (highs 70 to 85 F, dogwoods and azaleas in bloom) and mid-September through early November (highs 65 to 80 F, crisp nights, fall color in the Blue Ridge foothills just north). Summer is warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and afternoon thunderstorms, so make sure the rig you rent has reliable air conditioning. Winter is mild with highs in the 50s and only occasional freezes. Pro tip: peach season (May to August) plus fall leaf-peeping in nearby Caesars Head make shoulder months the local favorite.

I'm first time renting an RV. Will I be okay driving it around Valley Falls?

Yes, you've got this, and Valley Falls is actually a friendly place to learn. First time renting an RV? Your RVezy host will give you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, slide-outs, water, propane, and the dump process, plus their phone number for any questions on the road. Local roads like US-176, SC-9, and I-85 are wide and well-maintained, and most campgrounds (Croft State Park, Cunningham RV Park, Pine Ridge) have generous pull-through sites. If city driving makes you nervous, request delivery and let the host park it for you. Pro tip: start with a travel trailer or Class C under 28 feet for the easiest first-time RV trip Valley Falls experience.

What happens if I have a breakdown or roadside issue during my Valley Falls RV trip?

You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one call away whether you're parked at Croft State Park, climbing toward Caesars Head, or stopped on the shoulder of I-85. Roadside support handles common issues like flat tires, lockouts, dead batteries, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. Your host is also a great first call for quick troubleshooting on rig-specific quirks like the awning or generator. Snap a photo of the RV's VIN, plate, and tire size at pickup so any roadside call goes faster on your Valley Falls RV rental.

Can I take my Valley Falls RV rental on a road trip to other states?

Yes, interstate travel within the United States is welcome on most RVezy rentals, and Valley Falls is well placed for an RV road trip through the southeast. Popular routes include north to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway (about 75 miles), east to Charleston's beaches (around 200 miles), south to Savannah, GA (about 230 miles), and a Smoky Mountains loop through Cherokee and Gatlinburg (around 150 miles). Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval, but travel into Mexico is not permitted because protection coverage stops at the border. Confirm your route with the host in the message thread before booking, especially for longer trips.

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Budgeting for fuel is easy once you know the numbers. Class C motorhomes around Valley Falls typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon on regular unleaded, Class A gas rigs run 6 to 10 mpg, and Class B campervans can hit 18 to 22 mpg. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves, but your tow vehicle will see roughly a 30 percent mpg hit. South Carolina gas prices are consistently among the lowest in the country, often 20 to 40 cents below the national average, which makes a campervan rental Valley Falls trip notably cheaper than starting from a coastal state. Pro tip: fill up at Spartanburg or Gaffney exits along I-85 before heading into the mountains, where mountain-town prices climb fast.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Valley Falls?

Book sooner than you think, especially for state parks. South Carolina State Parks (including Croft, just south of Valley Falls) open reservations 11 months in advance through their official reservation system, and prime weekends at Croft, Table Rock, and Devils Fork fill the day they open. Private parks like Cunningham RV Park, Pine Ridge Campground, and the Spartanburg NE/Gaffney KOA are easier, but still aim for 4 to 8 weeks ahead in spring and fall. For summer holiday weekends, book 3 to 6 months out. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday to Wednesday) almost always have openings even last-minute, which is gold for a spontaneous RV camping Valley Falls getaway.

What are the driving conditions like around Valley Falls, SC?

Driving an RV around Valley Falls is refreshingly easy. The area sits along I-85 and US-176 with wide lanes, gentle grades, and well-marked exits, so big rigs handle it comfortably. Watch for two things: summer afternoon thunderstorms (June to August can bring quick, heavy downpours, so slow down and pull off if needed) and steeper grades if you head north on I-26 toward Asheville (Saluda Grade is one of the steepest mainline interstate climbs in the eastern US). Downtown Spartanburg has a few low-clearance railroad bridges, so stick to the bypass routes with a tall Class A. Pro tip: use a trucker-friendly GPS or Garmin RV setting to avoid those low bridges automatically.
scdot.org/travel/travel-home.aspx

What hookups, dump stations and water fills should I expect at Valley Falls campgrounds?

You'll find excellent infrastructure at campgrounds near Valley Falls. Most private parks (Cunningham RV Park, Pine Ridge, Beckon Ridge, Fireside RV Park, Whispering Winds) offer full hookups with 20/30/50-amp electric, city water, and sewer at every site, plus WiFi and laundry. Croft State Park has water and 50-amp electric at all 50 RV sites, with a centralized dump station near the campground exit. Free public dump stations in the area are limited, so plan to dump where you stay or at a Flying J/Pilot truck stop along I-85. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the campground, since some scenic stops like Caesars Head State Park don't have fill stations on site.

What amenities come standard in a Valley Falls RV rental?

Most rigs are well-equipped for comfortable travel. Standard amenities in a typical Valley Falls RV rental include a queen bed, dinette and/or sofa that converts to extra sleeping, a kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, furnace, and seatbelts for passengers riding while driving. Many listings also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, and an awning. Onboard generators are common on Class A and Class C motorhomes. Scroll the listing's amenities list and photos carefully, and message the host if you need something specific like a CPAP outlet or a bike rack setup.

What add-ons and pickup options are available with my Valley Falls RV rental?

You can customize your trip with helpful add-ons. Common extras on RVezy listings in Valley Falls include linen and kitchen packages, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, portable generators, bike racks, propane fills, and pre-stocked firewood, with pricing set by each host. Pickup is usually at the host's home address in the Spartanburg-Greenville area, with delivery to nearby campgrounds available from many hosts. Mileage policies vary by listing, often from around 100 miles per day up to unlimited, so check that section before booking. Add extras during checkout rather than at pickup so hosts can prep everything in advance, and ask for a quick orientation video the day before pickup if you're new to RVing.

How does payment and the security deposit work when I rent an RV in Valley Falls, SC?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Valley Falls through RVezy, you pay by credit card directly on the platform, never in cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is held on your card separately from your booking payment, with the amount set by each host based on the rig's value, and it's released back to you after the host confirms the RV is returned in good condition. To avoid deposit issues, do the walkthrough with your host at pickup, take date-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and tanks, and return the RV refueled and with tanks emptied as agreed. Keep all receipts and communication in the RVezy app's message thread.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Where can I park an RV overnight in Valley Falls if I'm not at a campground?

You've got several legal options for overnight parking near Valley Falls. Many Walmart Supercenters along I-85 (including the Spartanburg and Gaffney locations) allow free overnight RV parking with manager permission, and Cracker Barrel restaurants in Spartanburg are RV-friendly too. Cabela's in Greenville often welcomes overnight stays in its outer lot. For a more scenic free option, Sumter National Forest, about an hour west, has dispersed camping areas. Note that Spartanburg County and the city of Spartanburg prohibit overnight street parking for RVs in residential zones, so plan ahead. Pro tip: always call the specific store the day of arrival to confirm, and arrive before sunset so you can level up easily and respect the host business.
