This was our first time renting an RV as a family, so my wife and I didn’t really know what to expect. After a full weekend, I can honestly say it was a fantastic experience! The convenience of having an RV delivered and set-up with personalized instructions was exactly what we needed. The RV worked great for our family and several kids, and helped make the weekend much more enjoyable. Danielle was great at communicating and went above and beyond to make sure everything went exactly as planned. Thank you for a great experience!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Loon Lake, WA
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Loon Lake, WA?
An RV rental in Loon Lake is one of the more affordable ways to experience the Inland Northwest. On RVezy, expect roughly $90 to $175 per night for travel trailers, $125 to $225 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 to $350 for larger Class A coaches, plus a host-set mileage rate and an optional generator fee. You can save by booking midweek, traveling in May or September shoulder season when lake levels are still great, or filtering for trailers that owners deliver to Deer Lake or Granite Point so you skip towing fees. For a cheap RV rental Loon Lake families love, message hosts directly to ask about weekly discounts.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Loon%20Lake,%20WashingtonWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Loon Lake, Washington?
Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Loon Lake. Washington does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes and travel trailers, so your standard license from any U.S. state or Canadian province works. To book on RVezy, you must generally be 25 or older with a valid license, and you will confirm your ID through the platform during checkout. Visiting from overseas? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home-country license. Most guests are pleasantly surprised how quick the verification step is, leaving you free to focus on the fun part: picking your rig.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs insurance and roadside assistance included with my Loon Lake RV rental?
Yes, and this is one of the best reasons to book with confidence. Every RV rental in Loon Lake WA booked through RVezy comes with a protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built in, so a flat tire on Highway 395 or a dead battery at Deer Lake Resort is just a phone call away from help. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle during your trip, giving you significant financial peace of mind. During checkout you choose from different protection levels based on how much coverage you want, the host does not pick for you, so you stay in control of your comfort level.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat if I need to cancel my Loon Lake RV trip?
You can book today with confidence. RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy, and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking so you have breathing room to confirm dates with family. Refunds beyond that window depend on how far in advance you cancel. Snag the rig you want now and finalize logistics later, and if life happens, message RVezy support through the trip dashboard. Pro tip: lock in your Loon Lake RV trip early for July and August, since the best lakefront-delivery rigs around Granite Point disappear fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Loon Lake?
Absolutely, and the area is a dream for dog owners. Filter for Pet-Friendly listings on RVezy to find a pet-friendly RV rental Loon Lake hosts welcome four-legged guests in, then point the leash toward Mount Spokane State Park, where leashed dogs are allowed on most trails, or the shoreline trails near Deer Lake. Loon Lake area resorts including Deer Lake Resort generally accept pets with prior approval, so call ahead to confirm. Pack a long lead, plenty of water for hot July afternoons, and a towel for muddy paws after splash sessions. Message your host before booking to confirm any pet fee and to share your pup's size.
parks.wa.gov/know-rules/pets-state-parksCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Loon Lake?
Yes, and it is the easiest way to start your trip. Many Spokane-area hosts offer RV delivery Loon Lake guests love: they will tow the trailer or park the motorhome at Deer Lake Resort, Granite Point Park, or another nearby resort, level it, connect water and 30/50-amp power, then walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees typically run $2 to $4 per mile from Spokane (about 40 miles south), and some hosts include setup in a flat resort-delivery price. Filter for Delivery on RVezy, then message the host with your campground name and arrival date. It is perfect for anyone who is first time renting an RV.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038112794-RV-deliveryHow far can I drive, and what about mileage limits?
Plenty of room to roam. Most hosts offering an RV rental in Loon Lake WA include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with extra miles at roughly $0.35 to $0.50 each, and some offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage upgrade for a flat daily fee. From Loon Lake you are about 40 miles to Spokane, 75 miles to the Canadian border at Laurier, roughly 110 miles to Sandpoint, Idaho, 165 miles to Grand Coulee Dam, and around 280 miles to Glacier National Park's west entrance. If you are planning a bigger Loon Lake RV trip loop through Idaho or Montana, message your host to discuss a mileage package up front, it almost always beats paying per-mile overages.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037954874-Understanding-mileage-and-generator-usageWhere are the best campgrounds near Loon Lake?
You are spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Loon Lake include Deer Lake Resort, a popular lakeside resort with full hookups, a marina and a swim beach (open seasonally May through September). Granite Point Park on the southeastern shore offers historic lakeside character, a cafe, and a day-use beach, also operating in the warm months. Several other private RV parks on Deer Lake and Loon Lake offer full hookups and accommodate larger rigs. Mount Spokane State Park provides a more rustic alpine option in summer. Reserve state park sites through washington.goingtocamp.com up to nine months in advance, and book private resorts directly on their websites.
washington.goingtocamp.com/When is the best time of year for RV camping in Loon Lake?
Late June through mid-September is the sweet spot for RV camping Loon Lake visitors dream about. July and August bring warm, dry days with average highs in the low-to-mid 80s and cool nights in the 50s, perfect for campfires and lake swimming. May and early June are quieter and greener, with highs in the 60s and wildflowers along Mount Spokane trails. Fall (mid-September through October) glows with tamarack gold and highs in the 50s and 60s. Winter is genuinely cold here, with January highs near freezing and significant snowfall, so plan accordingly. Insider tip: the week after Labor Day is uncrowded perfection.
weather.gov/otx/I've never driven an RV before. Is renting one in Loon Lake really doable?
Yes, and Loon Lake is one of the friendlier places in Washington to learn. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering propane, slides, leveling, the water pump, and the dump valves, and you can message them anytime during your trip. The roads around Loon Lake (US-395 and State Route 292) are wide, paved, and lightly trafficked compared to Seattle-area highways, with gentle grades. Start with a smaller Class C motorhome or a 20-to-25-foot travel trailer if it is your first time renting an RV. Pro tip: ask your host about delivery to Deer Lake Resort so your first drive is from the campground to dinner, not from Spokane.
rvezy.com/blog/first-time-rv-renters-guideWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You are never stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering tows, jump-starts, flat tires, lockouts, and fuel delivery anywhere your Loon Lake adventure takes you, from the gravel roads off Highway 292 to a turnout on the Pend Oreille Scenic Byway. One phone call dispatches help. Your host is also just a message away for quirky RV questions, like resetting a tripped GFCI or relighting the water heater. Save the RVezy support number in your phone before pickup, screenshot your booking confirmation in case of low cell service near Deer Lake, and you are set.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityCan I take my Loon Lake RV rental across the border into Canada or Idaho?
Idaho is no problem at all, and Canada is often possible too. Idaho trips are popular, you are only about 110 miles from Sandpoint, ID and roughly 90 minutes to Coeur d'Alene. For Canada, many hosts allow trips across the Laurier border crossing (just 75 miles north of Loon Lake) into British Columbia, but you must confirm with your specific host before booking because cross-border protection terms vary. Trips into Mexico are not permitted on any RVezy rental because protection coverage does not extend there. Bring your passport and vehicle registration (your host provides this), and RVezy can help with the cross-border process ahead of your departure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Loon Lake RV trip?
Fuel is one of the more predictable costs of any RV road trip from Loon Lake. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes about 8 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches 6 to 10 MPG, and trucks pulling travel trailers around 10 to 14 MPG. Stevens County gas prices typically run a bit higher than Spokane, so fill up in Spokane or Colville before heading to your campsite. For a 4-night trip covering 300 miles in a Class C at recent regional pump prices, budget roughly $125 to $160 in fuel. Pro tip: use GasBuddy to compare prices along Route 395 before you roll.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground around Loon Lake?
For summer weekends, book the day reservations open. Washington State Parks accepts reservations up to nine months ahead through washington.goingtocamp.com, and limited sites at Mount Spokane fill quickly for July and August. Private resorts like Deer Lake Resort and Granite Point Park take direct bookings on their websites and often sell out three to six months in advance for prime lakefront sites. For more flexible last-minute trips, target midweek dates in late June or post-Labor Day September. Insider tip: when Deer Lake Resort shows full, call them directly, they sometimes hold a few sites off the online system.
washington.goingtocamp.com/What are the local driving conditions like around Loon Lake?
Driving here is refreshingly relaxed compared to western Washington. US-395 and State Route 292 are well-maintained two-lane highways with gentle grades, wide shoulders, and far less traffic than I-5 or I-90. Watch for wildlife (whitetail deer, especially at dawn and dusk), occasional logging trucks, and summer thunderstorms that can move through quickly. In winter, expect snow, ice, and required traction tires, which is one reason most guests rent April through October. The drive up to Mount Spokane involves steeper grades, so check brakes before that climb. Pro tip: stick with US-395 south to I-90 if you are heading west.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/real-time-travel/mountain-pass-conditionsWhat amenities can I expect at Loon Lake area campgrounds?
Most local campgrounds are surprisingly well-equipped. Resorts on Deer Lake and Loon Lake commonly offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30 and 50-amp electric), Wi-Fi at the office, fire rings, picnic tables, hot showers, laundry, and dump stations. Deer Lake Resort adds a marina, boat launch, swim beach, and a small store. Mount Spokane's backcountry campgrounds are more rustic, often with restrooms but no showers and no hookups, so you will rely on your RV's freshwater tank and generator. For where to park an RV in Loon Lake without a reservation, the Colville National Forest has free dispersed sites within roughly 30 minutes north, though you will need to be fully self-contained.
fs.usda.gov/colvilleWhat's actually inside the RVs people rent in Loon Lake?
More than you would guess. A typical motorhome rental Loon Lake guests book sleeps 4 to 8 with a queen bed, convertible dinette, and bunks or a cab-over; includes a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, three-burner propane stove, microwave, and sink; a wet bath with toilet and shower; roof A/C; propane furnace; and an awning. Most have a generator (often a few free hours per day, then a small hourly fee), and many include a TV and Bluetooth stereo. A campervan rental Loon Lake travelers choose is more compact but easier to drive and park at lakefront pull-ins. Confirm seat count and seatbelted seats with the host before booking your family RV trip Loon Lake style.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Loon%20Lake,%20WashingtonWhat add-ons and features can I get with my Loon Lake RV rental?
Lots of fun extras to make your trip easier. Drop-off is typically by 11 a.m. on the last day, and many hosts offer a late-checkout add-on. Mileage policies vary, so check the listing's nightly mileage allowance and per-mile overage rate before you book. Message the host about one-way trips if you are heading east toward Glacier.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Loon%20Lake,%20WashingtonHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Simple and secure. You pay your full Loon Lake RV rental on RVezy at the time of booking using a credit card or supported digital wallet, and RVezy holds the funds until after your trip starts, so the host is motivated to deliver a great experience. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on rig type) is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup, not actually charged, and released after a clean return. To avoid issues, do a thorough video walkaround with your host at pickup and dropoff, return with the same fuel and propane levels, and empty the holding tanks if your contract requires it. Keep all receipts in case you need them later.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat's the best RV road trip from Loon Lake?
You are perfectly positioned for an epic loop. A favorite RV road trip from Loon Lake heads north about 75 miles on US-395 to the Canadian border and Christina Lake, BC, then loops back via Colville National Forest and the Pend Oreille Scenic Byway, around 250 miles total over 4 days. Another classic: head east about 110 miles to Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho, then south to Coeur d'Alene (about 90 minutes from Loon Lake) for the famous lakeside boardwalk. Ambitious travelers continue roughly 280 miles east to Glacier National Park's west entrance at Apgar. Local insider tip: stop in Chewelah (about 20 miles north) for small-town charm and a craft beer before continuing north.
