Nice clean little camper for 4. Nicely appointed but Bring a rug or mat for in front of camper & inside door. Longer water hose & electrical cord would be helpful. We were glad to have the generator for back up because the elec. cord was not always long enough. Know what you need and ask. Paul added a drip coffee machine & toaster for us. Bedding & towels were clean & nice. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well

We rented this RV for a weekend getaway and had a fantastic experience. The RV was clean, well-stocked, and spacious! The owner gave us a quick instruction sheet so we felt comfortable using all the hookups and appliances. Everything worked as expected — fridge stayed cold, A/C kept us comfortable, and the beds were surprisingly cozy. Pick-up and drop-off were smooth, and the host was responsive to questions. It made our trip so much easier compared to tent camping. Highly recommend for a fun weekend adventure!”

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in North Bonneville, WA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in North Bonneville, WA?

RV rental in North Bonneville is one of the best values in the Pacific Northwest, since you skip the inflated prices of Portland and Hood River while staying minutes from the Columbia River Gorge. On RVezy, expect roughly $95 to $175 per night for travel trailers, $135 to $225 for Class C motorhomes, and $85 to $140 for campervans, with Class A coaches running higher. The smartest way to score a cheap RV rental in North Bonneville is to book midweek (Sunday through Thursday) and travel in May or late September when the gorge is glorious but demand drops. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings and bundle multi-night stays, since many hosts offer weekly discounts.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Washington State?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Washington for any motorhome or trailer under 26,001 pounds, which covers virtually every RV on RVezy. No commercial driver's license (CDL) and no special endorsement required. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so the process takes just a few minutes. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple it is to book a motorhome rental in North Bonneville and hit the Columbia River Gorge the same day.

What protection and roadside assistance comes with my RVezy booking?

Every RV rental in North Bonneville booked through RVezy automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can cross Beacon Rock or the Bridge of the Gods knowing you are covered. You choose your protection level at checkout based on how much peace of mind you want (this is not set by the host), and the plan covers most physical damage to the RV during your trip. If a tire blows on WA-14 or the battery dies at a trailhead, one call gets help dispatched. It is not traditional auto insurance, but it removes the biggest worry most first-time renters have. Book with confidence and focus on the gorge views instead.

What is the cancellation policy if my Columbia Gorge plans change?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy, and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your North Bonneville RV trip without second-guessing. After the grace period, refund eligibility depends on how far out you cancel before your trip start date. The policy is handled platform-wide, so you will not see different rules on different listings. If your host cancels, RVezy provides a refund or travel credit. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best rigs near Beacon Rock, knowing you have a cushion if life happens.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in North Bonneville?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in North Bonneville is easy to find on RVezy: flip the Pet-Friendly filter and you will see plenty of hosts who welcome dogs. Once you arrive, your pup has it made. Beacon Rock State Park allows leashed dogs on most trails, including the iconic switchback summit hike, and the Discovery Trail loop right through town is a flat, paved dog walk with Bigfoot sculptures along the way. Lewis and Clark Campground and RV Park also welcomes pets in designated areas. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees, and bring a tie-out since most campgrounds require dogs leashed at the site.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in North Bonneville?

Yes, RV delivery in North Bonneville is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who do not want to drive a big rig through the gorge. Many local hosts will deliver to Beacon Rock State Park, Lewis and Clark Campground and RV Park on Evergreen Drive, or even your private rental cabin nearby. They will level the rig, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter when searching, then message the host with your exact campsite number. It turns your trip into a true vacation: arrive, unpack, and start hiking Hamilton Mountain.

How far can I travel from North Bonneville on an RV trip?

You are perfectly positioned for an epic Pacific Northwest RV road trip from North Bonneville. Portland is about 45 miles west (roughly an hour), Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument is roughly 60 miles north, Hood River sits about 25 miles east on WA-14, Mount Rainier National Park is about 150 miles northeast, and the Oregon Coast at Cannon Beach is around 130 miles west. Where are the best campgrounds near North Bonneville for RVs?

The best campgrounds near North Bonneville give you full hookups within minutes of the gorge's biggest hits. Beacon Rock State Park (about 3 miles west on WA-14) offers RV-friendly sites with utility hookups, open year-round, with a sani-dump on-site. Lewis and Clark Campground and RV Park on Evergreen Drive has full-hookup sites with showers and a dump station right in town. Across the river in Oregon, Cascade Locks KOA and Ainsworth State Park add more options within 10 miles. For a quieter base, Gorge Base Camp RV Park in nearby Stevenson has big-rig sites. Reserve Beacon Rock through the Washington State Parks reservation system, since it fills up fast.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in North Bonneville?

North Bonneville is a true year-round destination, but the sweet spot for RV camping in North Bonneville is mid-April through late October, when daytime highs run from the mid-60s in spring to the low 80s in July and August. Spring brings roaring waterfalls and wildflowers on Hamilton Mountain; fall delivers crisp 60-degree days and golden bigleaf maples along the gorge. Summer is warmest and busiest, so book early. Winters are mild here compared to most of Washington (lows in the mid-30s, with occasional snow), and Bonneville Hot Springs plus uncrowded trails make a January trip surprisingly magical. Local insider tip: visit in late May for peak waterfall flow before the summer crowds arrive.

I've never driven an RV before. Is North Bonneville a good place to start?

It really is, and your host has your back. North Bonneville is a small, quiet town off WA-14 with minimal traffic and gentle gorge highways rather than steep mountain passes, so it's a forgiving area for your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host does a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, slide-outs, leveling, dumping, and driving tips, and you can text them during the trip if anything pops up. If you're still nervous, choose a Class B campervan or a small Class C under 25 feet, which handle like a big van. Pro tip: practice a few left turns and reverse maneuvers in the wide parking lot at Bonneville Dam Visitor Center before heading out.

What happens if something breaks down during my trip?

You are never stranded. Every RV rental in North Bonneville booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on WA-14, a dead battery at Beacon Rock, or a propane issue at your campsite is one phone call away from a fix. RVezy's support team is also reachable for booking or platform questions, and your host is just a message away for quirks specific to their rig. Save both numbers in your phone before pickup. Cell service is solid through most of the gorge, but it gets patchy deeper into Gifford Pinchot National Forest, so download offline maps as a backup.

Can I drive my North Bonneville RV rental into Oregon or up to Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is built into the North Bonneville RV trip experience: Oregon is literally across the Bridge of the Gods (about 4 miles south in Cascade Locks), and your RVezy protection plan covers travel throughout the United States. A classic loop runs WA-14 east to Hood River, crosses to Oregon, then returns west on I-84 past Multnomah Falls. Travel to Canada may be allowed depending on the host and protection coverage, so message the host before booking if you want to extend toward Vancouver, BC. Important: travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because protection coverage does not extend there. Stick to the US and Canada, and you have endless gorgeous routes.

What about fuel costs and MPG for an RV road trip from North Bonneville?

Budgeting fuel is straightforward once you know the math. Campervans (Class B) typically get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes run 10 to 14 MPG, Class A coaches around 7 to 10 MPG, and trucks pulling travel trailers land near 10 to 13 MPG. Gas prices in Skamania County tend to run slightly above the Washington state average, so most renters fuel up cheaper in Cascade Locks, Oregon (no sales tax on goods, plus full-serve pumps) or in Vancouver, WA before heading east. For a 3-day, 200-mile loop in a Class C, expect roughly $80 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: top off in Stevenson before heading deeper into the gorge, fuel stops thin out east of Hood River.

How far in advance should I book a campground near North Bonneville?

For the gorge's most coveted sites, earlier is better. Beacon Rock State Park RV sites can be reserved up to 9 months ahead through the Washington State Parks reservation system and sell out quickly for summer weekends. Lewis and Clark Campground and RV Park typically books 2 to 4 months out in peak season but often has midweek openings. Cascade Locks KOA and Ainsworth State Park (Oregon side) follow similar timelines, with Oregon State Parks reservable 6 months in advance. Pro tip: if you strike out, set a cancellation alert with a service like Campnab, or aim for Sunday-through-Thursday arrivals, which open up regularly even in July.

What are the driving conditions like around North Bonneville?

Driving conditions around North Bonneville are surprisingly RV-friendly, especially compared to mountain passes elsewhere in Washington. WA-14 (the Lewis and Clark Highway) is a two-lane scenic route with gentle grades, well-marked pullouts, and stunning Columbia River views the whole way. Watch for two location-specific things: strong west-east winds in the gorge (especially near Cape Horn and Hood River, where gusts can make high-profile RVs squirrely) and occasional freight trains at rail crossings near town. Avoid driving at sunrise or sunset eastbound, since the sun glares straight down the gorge. Snow is rare at this elevation but possible December through February, so check WSDOT before heading out.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds around North Bonneville?

Local campgrounds are well-equipped for RV camping in North Bonneville. Lewis and Clark Campground and RV Park offers full hookups, potable water, an on-site dump station, hot showers, laundry, and flush toilets. Beacon Rock State Park has RV sites with utility hookups, showers, and a sani-dump available to registered campers (a Discover Pass is included with your camping fee). For dumping outside your campground, the Cascade Locks Marine Park has a public dump station about 5 miles south. Pro tip: fill fresh water before leaving your host or at the campground spigot, since water sources thin out fast once you head into Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

What's actually inside the RVs available in North Bonneville?

RVezy rentals in North Bonneville come stocked for the gorge lifestyle. Expect a real bed (queen is standard, plus convertible dinette or bunks), a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control (furnace plus AC), and seatbelts for everyone riding. Most listings include a generator or solar setup for off-grid stays at Panther Creek or dispersed sites in Gifford Pinchot. Wi-Fi and TV vary by host, so check the amenities list on each listing or message the host. Pro tip: ask whether the rig has heated holding tanks if you're booking outside summer; nights along the Columbia can dip below freezing as early as October.

What add-ons and options can I get with my North Bonneville RV rental?

Hosts offer fantastic add-ons that make your trip easier. Common extras include camp chairs and outdoor tables ($5 to $15 per trip), bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits with cookware ($20 to $50), generators ($10 to $30 per day), bike racks, kayak/SUP mounts (huge near the windsurfing capital of Hood River), and pet packages. Pickup and dropoff are typically at the host's home or a meeting point in Skamania County, with delivery to campgrounds usually $2 to $4 per mile. Mileage policies generally allow 100 to 150 free miles per night with $0.30 to $0.50 per overage mile. Review the listing's full add-on menu before you book and bundle everything in one message to the host.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform when you book (never directly to a host), which keeps everything tracked and protected. Most bookings split payment into a deposit at booking and the balance closer to your trip. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after your trip if the rig comes back clean, on time, and undamaged. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos and a short video of the RV's interior and exterior at pickup and dropoff, dump the tanks if your agreement requires it, and refuel to the level shown at pickup. Pro tip: keep all receipts from your North Bonneville RV trip in case any questions come up.
