Campgrounds and RV parks near Bow Island, AB

Bow Island sits in southeastern Alberta along Highway 3, between Medicine Hat to the east and Lethbridge to the west. The town is small, so most RV campgrounds are spread across the surrounding prairie, with the densest cluster around Brooks and Lake Newell to the northwest and Medicine Hat to the east. The closest options for RV travellers are a mix of municipal, provincial, and irrigation-district sites. Redcliff Municipal Campground sits on the edge of Redcliff, about 9 km northwest of Medicine Hat, with electrical sites, showers, fresh water, and a dump station. Rolling Hills Campground in the hamlet of Rolling Hills offers a small set of powered sites. Two larger destinations sit on Eastern Irrigation District reservoirs: Rolling Hills Reservoir Campground on Rolling Hills Reservoir, and Kinbrook Island Provincial Park on Lake Newell. Tillebrook Provincial Park, a few minutes east of Brooks on the Trans-Canada Highway, rounds out the area with treed sites and a disc-golf course. All are within easy driving range of Bow Island and the Highway 1 and Highway 3 corridors.

Group camping areas at Kinbrook Island can be booked up to 180 days ahead. Walk-in sites are first-come, first-served when available, and summer long weekends fill quickly, so booking at the 90-day mark is wise for peak dates. Redcliff Municipal Campground takes reservations through the Lets Camp booking platform. Rolling Hills Reservoir Campground is operated by the Eastern Irrigation District; the 110 daily-use sites are handled through the campground, and the 35 seasonal lease sites are assigned through the spring draw.
