Water activities anchor most trips. Echo Valley Provincial Park has two beaches and access to two lakes, making it a destination for fishing and water enthusiasts, with lush lawns, a playground, change rooms, and barbecues at the beach area. Anglers pursue walleye, northern pike, perch, and burbot on Echo, Pasqua, and Katepwa Lakes. Katepwa Lake, just southeast, is a popular fishing lake and the setting for South Katepwa RV Park. On land, the park offers interpretive programming and nature trails through the valley, along with canoeing, kayaking, and swimming from the beach strip between the two lakes. Golf, disc golf, and swimming lessons operate through summer at Katepwa Point, a day-use park adjacent to South Katepwa RV Park. Winter visitors can ice fish on the lakes and ski or snowboard at Mission Ridge Winter Park, immediately south of town.

The main camping season runs from the May long weekend through late September, when provincial parks are fully staffed and serviced. Full services at Echo Valley Provincial Park are available from the May long weekend to September 30. July and August are the busiest months, with warm days, cool evenings, and reliably swimmable lake temperatures. Spring shoulder season in late May and June brings green valley slopes and the highest rainfall of the year, so RV travellers should expect occasional thunderstorms and muddy sites. Bugs peak in June. September cools quickly, with crisp mornings, fewer crowds, and reliable walleye fishing before facilities wind down. Winter is severe. Overnight lows regularly drop below minus 20 Celsius from December through February, and roads into the valley can drift with snow. Most provincial park services close for the season, though Echo Valley is one of the few Saskatchewan parks that offers reservable winter camping with limited services. Ice fishing shacks appear on Echo, Pasqua, and Katepwa Lakes once the ice is thick enough.

Sites in the valley vary from full-service RV pads with 15, 30, and 50 amp power to basic electric and non-electric loops. Lakeview A at Echo Valley Provincial Park has 22 electric RV sites with water taps, toilets, a nearby playground, a dump station, and garbage disposal. Aspen and Valleyview loops add showers, laundry, and larger pads suited to bigger rigs. Cell service is generally reliable close to Fort Qu'Appelle and along Highway 10, but can drop in lower valley loops. Quiet hours are enforced in provincial parks and firewood is provided free of charge in Saskatchewan's provincial parks. Expect gravel and paved access roads, some steep grades descending into the valley, and back-in sites in the older loops. Larger fifth wheels and Class A rigs should confirm pad length when booking. Bring layers even in mid-summer: prairie evenings cool quickly after sunset, and open lakeshore sites can be windy. Store food inside the RV overnight to deter raccoons and skunks.
