Campgrounds and RV parks near Ibex Valley, YT

Ibex Valley is a rural hamlet in southern Yukon, immediately west of Whitehorse along the Alaska Highway. Most RV travellers use it as a quieter base than the city itself, with easy access to the Takhini River corridor, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, and the North Klondike Highway heading toward Lake Laberge and beyond. Camping options fall into two groups. Private RV parks with full or partial hookups sit near Whitehorse and along Takhini Hot Springs Road, including Hot Springs Campground and Hostel and Hi Country RV Park. Government of Yukon territorial campgrounds are spaced further out along the highways and offer basic serviced sites with firewood, water, and outhouses, including Fox Lake Campground and Lake Laberge Campground. Robert Service Campground, on the Yukon River in Whitehorse, is the closest walk-in and tent-friendly option to downtown services. Together these sites cover most trip styles, from short overnight stops to multi-night stays built around fishing, paddling, and highway touring.

Government of Yukon campgrounds use a two-track system. Reservations are only available at Marsh Lake, Pine Lake, Tombstone Mountain, Wolf Creek, Fox Lake and Kusawa Lake campgrounds, booked through yukon.goingtocamp.com. All other territorial sites, including Lake Laberge Campground, are first-come, first-served and require a campsite permit registered on arrival. The reservation holder named when booking must be present upon arrival and throughout the stay, must fill out and register a campsite permit upon arrival, and reservations are non-transferable to another person or another campground. Private campgrounds are booked directly. Hot Springs Campground and Hostel, Hi Country RV Park, and Robert Service Campground each take reservations by phone, email, or their own websites, with summer weekends typically filling weeks ahead.
