Campgrounds and RV parks near Bartonville, IL

Bartonville sits just south of Peoria on the Illinois River, putting RV travelers within an easy drive of both private resorts and state-managed public land. The surrounding Peoria County area mixes river-valley bluffs, oak-hickory woodlands, and one of the state's largest sand-forest ecosystems, so options range from full-service resorts to rustic primitive sites. Close-in choices include Sankoty Lakes, a lakeside resort in Spring Bay with RV pull-through sites, glamping tents, and cabins, and Woodchuck Ridge, one of the camping loops inside Jubilee College State Park near Brimfield, which offers electric sites in a wooded state-park setting. Kentuckiana Campground in Mackinaw is a family RV park east of Bartonville with hookup sites. For a more remote trip, Oak Camp and Pine Camp at Sand Ridge State Forest sit southwest of Peoria in a sand-prairie and pine-plantation landscape unusual for central Illinois. Together these five parks are the primary starting points for planning an RV trip based out of Bartonville.

Illinois state-park campsites, including the reservable loops at Jubilee College State Park, are booked through the state's ExploreMoreIL reservation system. At Sand Ridge State Forest, Oak Camp is set up for organized group camping and its shelters and sites are rented through ExploreMoreIL, while Pine Camp uses Class C sites with on-site self-registration and payment at the ranger station during office hours. Private parks handle their own bookings directly. Sankoty Lakes takes RV, cabin, and glamping-tent reservations through the resort website, and Kentuckiana Campground books by phone and online through its own site. Reserve summer weekends and any holiday stay several weeks out, and confirm rig-length limits before arrival, since some state-forest sites favor smaller trailers and vans.
