Campgrounds and RV parks near Beardstown, IL

Beardstown sits on the Illinois River in west-central Illinois, roughly halfway between Springfield and Quincy. The area is flat farmland cut by river bluffs and small state fish and wildlife tracts, which gives RV travelers a mix of private full-hookup parks close to town and rustic state-park camping within an hour's drive. The closest full-service option is Buena Vista Farms Campground, a 145-acre facility with 68 RV sites, all full hookup and serviced with 50/30/20 amp electric, sewer, and water. It sits about 3 miles northwest of Jacksonville and 30 miles west of Springfield, making it a practical base for exploring central Illinois. Crazy Horse Campground, located north of Jacksonville and west of Springfield, is a family-oriented park with stocked ponds, planned activities, live music, and a swimming area. For state-park camping, Weinberg-King State Park Fish and Wildlife Area covers 772 acres of rolling hills with a meandering creek and a 4-acre pond in Schuyler County, 3 miles east of Augusta north of Route 101. Farther west, Pine Grove - Siloam Springs State Park anchors a 3,323-acre site with wooded terrain, a lake, and maintained facilities.

Illinois state parks in this region use one central system. Campsite reservations for both Pine Grove - Siloam Springs State Park and Weinberg-King State Park Fish and Wildlife Area are handled through the ExploreMoreIL website. Book weekend and holiday dates well in advance, particularly for electric sites and equestrian loops, which tend to fill first. Private parks handle their own bookings. Crazy Horse Campground takes reservations online or by phone, and Buena Vista Farms Campground books RV sites, tiny homes, and cabins directly through its website. Buena Vista also operates as a seasonal resort with both short and long-term stays, so nightly availability can tighten during peak weeks. Check-in policies vary by property, so confirm arrival and departure times when you reserve. At a state park, also confirm rig-length limits, since some Class B/E loops are laid out for shorter units.
