Enchanted Shores in Peotone and the Newton County Fairgrounds just across the Indiana line round out the local mix. For race weekends and events north toward Joliet, Chicagoland Speedway/Lakeside Campgrounds is the standard base.

State park sites at Potowatomi - Kankakee River State Park are reserved through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources system at ExploreMoreIL. Class A sites at Potawatomi include electric hookups, hot showers, flush toilets, and a dump station, and reservations can be made up to six months ahead. Same-day and day-before reservations are generally not accepted online, so walk-ins depend on availability at the campground office. Kankakee South KOA Holiday is booked directly through KOA, either online or by phone, and cancellation policies follow standard KOA terms. Private parks like Enchanted Shores and the Newton County Fairgrounds are typically booked by phone or through their own websites.
