Campgrounds and RV parks near Deer Creek, IL

Deer Creek is a small village in Tazewell and Woodford counties in central Illinois, sitting roughly midway between Peoria and Bloomington along the Interstate 74 corridor. The area is farm country, with private RV parks and family campgrounds serving travelers using I-74, I-39, and Route 24, plus visitors headed to Peoria for events, sports, or medical appointments. Most overnight options within a short drive are privately owned parks rather than state or federal campgrounds. Timberline Campground Goodfield is the closest full-service park, with more than 300 sites, full hookups, primitive tent sites, and rental cabins and trailers. Kamp Komfort in Carlock sits about eight miles from Normal just off I-74 and is geared toward RV travelers, while Kentuckiana Campground near Mackinaw and Hickory Hill Campground in Secor round out the nearby options with a mix of full-hookup, tent, and seasonal sites. Peoria Lake, the Illinois River, and several county parks are within a short drive, giving RV renters an easy base for day trips without the crowds of a national destination.

Most campgrounds in the Deer Creek area are privately owned, so reservations are handled directly by each park or through third-party booking platforms rather than a single state system. Timberline Campground Goodfield lists availability on Campspot and Good Sam, while Kamp Komfort takes reservations by phone and through its website. For holiday weekends, especially Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day, book several weeks ahead. Weeknight and shoulder-season stays are usually easier to secure with shorter notice. Confirm rig length, slide clearance, and pull-through availability when booking, since some parks have tighter sites than others. Cancellation policies vary: Kamp Komfort allows cancellation until noon the day before arrival with no charge, and other parks may require longer notice during peak weekends.
