Campgrounds and RV parks near Goodfield, IL

Goodfield sits in Woodford County along Interstate 74, roughly halfway between Peoria and Bloomington-Normal in central Illinois. The surrounding landscape is farmland and small woodlots rather than public wilderness, so the camping market here is dominated by privately owned RV parks rather than state or federal campgrounds. That makes the area a practical base for travelers crossing Illinois, families visiting Bloomington-Normal or Peoria, and RVers attending events at Illinois State University or in the Peoria metro. Timberline Campground Goodfield is the largest option in town, with over 300 sites and a full slate of family amenities. Nearby alternatives include Hickory Hill Campground in Secor and Kamp Komfort in Carlock, a smaller RV park just off I-74. For renters, the appeal is easy interstate access, level pull-through sites, and full hookups at most parks. Public land options are limited, so plan on private campgrounds for hookup camping.

Nearly all campgrounds in the Goodfield area are privately operated, so there is no single reservation portal like Recreation.gov to work through. Timberline Campground Goodfield takes reservations online through Campspot, and other area parks like Hickory Hill Campground and Kamp Komfort accept bookings by phone or through their own websites. Direct calls to the campground office often unlock sites that are not visible online, especially for seasonal or big-rig requests. For summer weekends and holidays, reserve at least four to eight weeks in advance. For shoulder-season weeknights, a few days ahead is usually enough. Confirm rig length, slide clearance, and hookup amperage at booking time, since site dimensions vary within each park.
