Campgrounds and RV parks near Hardin, IL

Hardin sits at the tip of the Calhoun County peninsula, wedged between the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers just above their confluence. The village is the county seat and is reached primarily by the Joe Page Bridge or the seasonal Brussels Ferry, which shapes how RV travelers route in and out. The surrounding landscape is river bluffs, orchards, and hardwood forest, with limited commercial services once away from town. Most campground inventory near Hardin sits across the rivers rather than in Calhoun County itself. Pere Marquette State Park lies directly across the Illinois River near Grafton and is the closest developed public campground. West of the Mississippi, Main - Cuivre River State Park near Troy, Missouri offers a larger reservable system, and Lakeview RV Estates provides additional sites in the same corridor. For RVers heading toward the St. Louis metro, Sundermeier RV Park in St. Charles and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Pine Lakes give full-hookup and family-oriented options within roughly an hour's drive.

Illinois state park campgrounds, including Pere Marquette State Park, are reserved through ExploreMoreIL. Reservations must be made at least three days before arrival and can be placed up to 180 days in advance. Firewood from outside Jersey County, Illinois, is not permitted at Pere Marquette. Missouri state park sites, including Main - Cuivre River State Park, are booked through the Missouri State Parks reservation website. The booking window extends up to 12 months in advance, and reservable sites may be available on a walk-up basis if not reserved. Private parks such as Lakeview RV Estates, Sundermeier RV Park, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Pine Lakes handle bookings directly through their own websites or phone lines, and typically release inventory further out than the public systems.
