Campgrounds and RV parks near Lemont, IL

Lemont sits along the Des Plaines River and the Illinois and Michigan Canal in the southwestern Chicago suburbs, roughly 30 miles from downtown. The village puts RV travelers within a short drive of several forest preserves, the Cook County trail network, and Argonne National Laboratory, while Interstates 55 and 355 keep bigger destinations, including O'Hare and Midway, within easy reach. Options close to town lean toward private RV parks rather than public campgrounds. Martin Campground offers a nearby private stay, with Chicagoland Speedway/Lakeside Campgrounds and Hollywood Casino Hotel and RV Resort sitting a bit farther south near Joliet. Leisure Lake Membership Resort and Enchanted Shores round out the choices for travelers willing to drive a little further for lake access. Because Lemont is inside a dense metro area, most true state park camping requires a longer drive. Travelers who want public land can reach Illinois Department of Natural Resources sites within one to two hours in most directions.

For Illinois state park sites within driving distance of Lemont, reservations are handled through the ExploreMoreIL platform. Campsites can be booked up to six months in advance and must be reserved at least three days before arrival. Bookings require a non-refundable reservation fee plus payment of the full camping and utility fees at the time of booking, and stays are capped at 14 nights within a 30-day period. Most campgrounds also hold first-come, first-served sites. Private parks near Lemont, including Martin Campground, Chicagoland Speedway/Lakeside Campgrounds, Hollywood Casino Hotel and RV Resort, Leisure Lake Membership Resort, and Enchanted Shores, each set their own policies. Book directly with the park and confirm rig-length limits, hookup type, and any event-weekend minimums before arriving.
