Campgrounds and RV parks near Lincolnwood, IL

Lincolnwood sits just north of Chicago along the I-94 corridor, which puts most Lake County and southern Wisconsin RV parks within roughly an hour's drive. There are no campgrounds inside the village itself, so RV travelers typically stage in Lincolnwood and drive out to Lake Michigan shoreline sites, the Chain O'Lakes area, or private resorts to the north and northwest. Pingala RV Resort is one of the closer private options. Farther north, Illinois Beach State Park runs the largest public campground on the Illinois lakeshore, with Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort, Martin Campground, and Grass Lake Marina and RV Park spread across the Fox Lake and Chain O'Lakes region. The mix works well for families: state park sites for lake access and hiking, private resorts for pools, cabins, and organized activities. Most locations are reachable via I-94, I-294, or US-12, and several sit within short driving distance of Six Flags Great America and the Lake County Forest Preserves.

Illinois state parks use a single online system. Reservations at Illinois Beach State Park can be made up to 180 days in advance through ExploreMoreIL, and reservations are accepted for stays from May 1 through September 30. Campers must have a camping unit at check-in and register on arrival for a permit. Limited first-come, first-served sites are available but fill early on summer Fridays. Private resorts book directly. Fish Lake Beach takes reservations by phone and online, with cancellation windows tied to arrival date. Grass Lake Marina and RV Park handles bookings through the operator. For summer weekends and holidays, plan on locking in dates several weeks to several months out, especially for full-hookup sites and lakefront pads.
