Larger Class A rigs and long fifth wheels should confirm site length and approach at booking; some Fox River properties have older, tree-shaded loops that suit mid-size RVs better than 40-plus-foot coaches. Hookups vary. Full-service sites with water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electric are standard at the private resorts near town, while state park sites farther south are typically electric only. Starved Rock's campground has 133 Class-A Premium campsites with electric hook-up only, 30 amp or 50 amp. Cell coverage is generally reliable in the villages but can drop inside the Starved Rock canyons. Pack firewood from local vendors, since Illinois restricts moving wood across counties to limit invasive pests.
